You can do the Londons at the end of November to give you another chance of hitting 240.

C&j again felt great until I got up to heavy weights. the cleans made me dizzy at 105. At least I made both of them.
I learnt that the comp is oct 9 so I got a couple weeks so I decided to start squatting since my knees are starting to adapt to snatch and c&j every session.

The misses were close, just a bit behind or in front, very close. I’d say you took too many attempts. If you miss just go up. You don’t need to stick every weight.
Jerks, just focus on them, your split is short, your front foot doesn’t move and your rear foot goes too far backwards. Just takes time to rework.
Great day lifting. Best way to spend a day off work. Most times I’ve cleaned 130 in a session, definately getting stronger. Really happy to have 100 2 days on the bounce and first attempt too. Consistancy is what I’m after.
My first session was at a student gym over the road from my work, the sun was shining brightly…so brightly that it made the young lady in front of me, tights go see through. NICE. Then on the walk home fron the gym to my car I realised I was holding the shoulder strap of my bag hook grip. Guess I must be getting close to being an o lifter. Very happy with training today, day off tomo then hammering it sunday.
Hi folks. Decided I was going to stop being shy and I would start posting and engage with everybody out there. Here’s my first ost in the training log.
I’m 30 years old (probably ancient in weightlifting) and BW is just under 80kg.
I have been lifting seriously for about one and a half year (WTF was I doing before?). I am almost entirely self coached and I am the only oly lifter in my gym…damn I am actually the only oly lifter on my island.
My all-time PBs are a 82,5 kg Snatch and a 100kg C&J.

Yeah, I don’t really understand why. I know I’m limited by my strength so I am really trying to improve my squat. My best FS is 115 and BS 125. I should really do better!
With one of my misses I managed to smash my knees down pretty hard on the platform. Think I’ve strained my ACL or some frigging knee ligament. Went to the ER today because I get stabby pains sometimes when walking and going up stairs. They said rest for a couple days and if it isn’t better they might possibly be persuaded to do an MRI.

There is a guy I train with sometimes who cleans more than he squats (think he cleans about 120kg and he is lighter than me!!)
He seems to think if he squats more he will clean more… Maybe…
He reckons it is easier to stand up a clean than a squat because you don’t have to lower the weight into the clean and also you can catch the bounce and ride it out whereas he doesn’t hit the bottom of a squat as hard to catch such rebound.

Really getting the benifits of snatching in some form 5 days a week. Back still feels shocking, but isnt effecting lifting? weird. All in all pretty happy with lifting right now

then missed 100 but felt strong
then tried 105 3 times, I only uploaded the first as the other two were very shit. Looks like mostly I just wasn’t anywhere near fast enough under the bar. More/better warm up next time.
C&j… clean is still shit and inconsistent.
Jerk was a LOT better than the last few times. I need to dip drive → dip under straight… I see that when I get under it I also go out front quite a bit. Back leg needs to go less back and be a bit more bent. The dip and drive looked very good and felt VERY STRONG. Which is why I was so pissed off at the attempt I uploaded cause I kept missing the cleans and the jerks felt so much better today. I wanted to c&j 115 today :(. Also cause I missed the jerk but now that I look at it I’m not so upset about it cause the technique is definitely much better than last time.
also 44112.5 back squat. Still feeling rather easy, more… balanced this time. I’m also inconsistent, sometimes I’m on my heels sometimes midfoot… I have to fix it.

Going to do some heavy power Clean and Jerk tomo, and some snatching with pauses at the knee. So happy I got 110! my PB as of jan the 18th this year was 95kg!

And the sweep is starting to really annoy me. I don’t get why it just won’t happen no matter what I try. it makes no sense.

yep. so that your palm would face towards your head/ceiling. it helped me and just overall pulling the bar with the arms slightly more towards the body.
Snatch - up to 97.5. almostttt got 102.5
C+J - up to 115. did a million cleans today with weights between 100-110. clean is still shit as of late
FS - up to 159 (2kg PR- also hit 157 on Sun, which was another 2kg PR lol), 150x2x2
I’ve been tinkering around with the clean a lot the past few sessions…it’s getting better, but it looks like I’m gonna have to rebuild my way back up to where I was…irritating inconsistent technique
