Lol @ me completely spacing on Jay…who could very well win this year. He has improved a lot and I would not be surprised at all if he steals the show.

Yeah man I know, I’ve been saying for a long time I’m routing for Heath and he’s also my prediction for who will win. I like him a lot, probably my favorite currently…doesn’t mean there’s not a little part of me inside that is routing for the guys who look more like me. lol

I thought the callouts reeked of politics, I also feel like Silvio got hosed not getting into that Rockel/Vic/Toney lineup, I believe he was also in the running to fight for position in that 6-8 range, I really like that guy and feel genuinely bad for him.
I am NOT a Jay Cutler fan…but after watching the streaming webcast and pouring over the pre-judging pics at flex.com, I must give kudos to him.
Jay will win the 2009 Mr. Olympia.
This is the most streamlined I’ve seen him, the most conditioned I’ve seen him, all with that awesome amount of pure beef hanging on him.
No, he does not have the smallest waste…but his streamlining of his waste and the sheer width of his shoulders make him actually look for the 1st time to be an ascetically pleasing physique. And the conditioning he attained…sick. Looking at the comparisons, personally my eye is drawn to Jay’s width and then the size and cuts.
Kai Greene looks much bigger in the webcast than in pictures. I found that strange. He is also pure beef, but somehow Jay’s width just overwhelms even Kai’s beef to me.
My favorites are Phil and Dexter, mostly because I prefer the streamlined proportional physiques…but in a lineup with the big boys, Phil looks awefully narrow…I mean REALLY narrow from the front. Dexter looks awesome…from the waste up. His legs are just not on par with the likes of Jay or Greene or Phil.
I feel bad for Victor. I really think from the front he has one of the best looking physiques on stage. But he is simply not in the same type of condition as the other guys. Maybe next year.
Branch and Rockel look fabulous. Branch’s conditioning and hardness is just amazing. But he just doesn’t have the ascetic-ness that I think the judges are looking for. His structure is the only thing holding him back. If bodybuilding was an event based solely on pure conditioned muscle, Branch would be Mr. Olympia this day. But bodybuilding isn’t just based on that.
This will be an interesting finish depending on who can hold their condition for another 24 hours.
