Branch is really underrated it seems, I hear almost no one ever talk about him, but he is carrying boat loads of muscle and gets striation-lean… Very impressive. I dont know if he can compete with the “pretty-ness” of gues like Henry, Health, Dex, and others… Perhaps thats why he’s always a top 6, but never a winner.

he’s a great person to watch training videos from, really hard working guy. he’s not top 3 Olympia material though

I wouldn’t say he’s out of top 8 but I doubt he would get top 5…which is a shame really because I like him. His training videos are pretty sweet and get me pumped. I love the shit he yells before heavy sets.

Maybe its the elf ears or the fact that he comes in almost too dry, but I just think he has the ugliest physique in the game currently.

agreed, however he could appeal to the redneck crowd - if he sings country he could become mr olympia - he did get screwed at the arnold(i think) and will continue to get screwed over unless he does something drastic
I don’t think Branch is underrated, he just doesn’t have the best looking physique, and he never will. He works his ass off, but he just doesn’t look as…I don’t know the word, sculptured maybe? His legs are too big for his arms, and his waist is thick which makes his mid section look blocky. With this years line-up, if he makes top 5 I would be very, very surprised.
This makes me realise that only a select few can win the Olympia, due to genetics. Nobody will deny all these guys train balls to the wall, and have unmatched dedication to the sport. But having all that mass isn’t going to mean shit because some guys just simply carry it better.
yeah when you hit the higher echelons of the sport, muscle fullness and shape and bellies really make a difference. I mean compare branch to phil heath. the difference in fullness is crazyy.

Branch is pretty awesome and he has successfully improved his midsection. I don’t see him being Mr. Olympia either. He reminds me of the modern day Rich Gaspari. He works so hard that he can’t be counted out, but I doubt he will break the top 3 in the next few years.
