2010 Mr Olympia

The Olympia is only a few weeks away, we have a lot of guys in contention for the title and this year will be one of the most stacked line ups ever…It is one of the first times I actually am having trouble picking an order for where I think people will be placed.

All I can do at the moment is predict a top 5 and I have Jay, Vic, Phil, Kai and then Roelly or Wolf…

I’ll upload some pics…

What does everyone think? I feel as if Vic has brought his legs up, which rumor has it he did, then I think he’d have the best all around physique. Other than that I guess it depends who comes in sharpest that day and how the judges judge. I’d be happy with a top 3 consisting of Jay, Phil and Vic.

Vic 4 weeks out.

Phil and his monster arms.

Branch…Thick dude, just too bad he is lacking in the symetry department, and his right lat is looking fucked.

Big ass quads.

Roelly.

Damnit Austin I said I was going to make this thread lol

A mod can delete mine now :frowning:

Ahhh shit bro I’m sorry lol…was getting antsy, got a day off from work and am sitting on forums waiting a couple hours to train legs and reading about the O.

Anyways, everyone feel free to upload pics and discuss…Jay has been under the radar as I haven’t seen any recent pics and I will find a good one of Kai.

Man - Vic looks pretty thick. Oh look, I made a rhyme…

I like Vic, but I think he always looks better than he is in shots by himself (a la Flex Weeler, or Shawn Ray). I’m thinking that Jay’s gonna win, then retire, Phil and Kai will fight it out for 2nd (I like Phil’s chances better), Branch, barring a lat injury (may just be an odd photo above), and repeating his conditioning from last year in 4th, followed by (in any order), Jackson, Rockel, Winkler, Vic, and MAYBE Wolf depending on his last couple of weeks. Freeman may be somewhere in the top 10,… I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch of guys, but the top 5 is pretty much set in my mind.

Stu I know what your are saying about Vic, but I was at the NPC Atlantic States back in June I believe and him Jay and Branch all guest posed and Vic hands down had the best upper body from the front, his back was up to par with everyones and he had jeans on so who knows about legs, however, I think he is going to bring some shock to the stage this year…

I am hoping he takes it to be honest. NYC represent!

Ohh and check it, right Lat is looking smaller in this pic as well…Something is funky.

Yeah,… kinda creepy actually. Branch doesn’t have the ‘pretty lines’ factor going for him, so if he loses his conditioning (which is always up in the air… see pics from the '10 Arnold), or his thickness (see above weird lat pic), he’s easily gonna fall out of contention for the top 5.

I agree with what you say about Vic, but so many shows, especially the bigger ones, are won with the back, and with the legs, and to be honest, if Vic didn’t have all the personal BS that went on for him last year (even after the leg injury), I don’t think he would have placed as well as he eventually did at the O. Watching the video, if there’s one guy in the top tier who didn’t truly belong up there in 2010, it was Vic.

I hope to god Phil wins this year…

I think as a bodybuilder he has the COMPLETE package of being a champion. Yeah people say he’s a bit too narrow or whatever but I mean look at his legs, arms, chest, traps and back… There is not definate clear indication of fault what so ever in him.

I hope he does not become another Levrone that should of won but just as time goes by never steps up into the limelight that he deserves.

I mean Kai has so much hype going for him and hes a truelly inspiring and motivating bodybuilder but to me Phil beats him. Lol and Wolf, after that initial break out into the top ten or whatever a while ago, he never steps up to show and why he has so much marketing attention I dont know! If Khan didnt get those knee tears, he would of been awesome in this years O if he was gonna compete.

GO Phil!!!

I dunno if Jay’s gonna repeat. First of all, he has to bring that same ridiculous package of massive beef and superb conditioning he brought last year to win it back (and shit yea - he deserved to win it back - I did not expect that, but the second you saw him, you knew) and even if he does, it won’t have the same shock factor it did last year.

With Phil and Kai breathing down his neck, it’s gonna be tough…

i hope he doesnt. I never cared for Jay. Branch looks weird in those pics. His quads seemingly have no length. Phil looks ridiculous. If kai keeps moving at the pace he is, im definitely putting him in the top 3. As of right now, Phil and Kai are my favs for best all around. Unfortunately, so much can go wrong in the days prior to the competition that predictions this far out can be way off base. Wolfe is a prime example right? I remember last year he was getting extremely hyped, but then do to poor contest prep + didnt he have an injury? well, he ended as what, 14th? I really cant wait for this year’s tho, if everyone brings there A game, this is going to be a controversial victory for ANY of the competitors lol.

I guess we will just have to wait and see. I will definitely post pics of Vics legs as soon as his latest in the trenches training video comes out and then we can more easily assess where he is at.

Yeah man, Phil is deserving of a Sandow for sure…I am a big Phil fan myself, not only because he is one of the best competitors, clearly taking the cake for best arms in current bodybuilding, but I also see him as a well spoken, friendly, stand up individual as well, which makes me like him even more. I think he would definitely make a grest ambassador for bodybuilding, not like he isn’t doing a great job already.

Bar none, Jay is the freakiset individual in bodybuilding right now. He is more heavily muscled than anyone else on stage. His only problem has been conditioning, which he nailed last year and rightfully won the show. If he is 100% on, I think he will be extremely hard to beat.

I’ve always liked Branch. I’m not saying I think he is going to win, but I really hope he pulls something out of his bum and pulls ahead. Phil looks just ridiculously massive in that picture, really great.

I didn’t catch anything last year, but is it being broadcasted on any websites? I’d really like to watch

I believe Jay will take it again unless something goes terribly wrong like two years ago. He’s reportedly been pretty covered up while training not allowing much of a sneak peek. This should be his last year win or lose, he’s got nothing left to really improve upon(within his control) and the younger guys are ready to step up to take over.

I don’t think Branch will be able to repeat that freakiness he brought last year… he deserved 2nd but I’d be surprised to see him in the top 4 again honestly. EVERYTHING has to be perfect for him to compare with more blessed guys shape and structure wise.
