Wolf wasn’t even top 15, big let down this year from him
no one has filled me in on wolf yet, what happend to him?
They were in awe at the sheer size of cutler. The man is enormous

He was flat last year, but cut.
He tried to get that size back this year, but he wasn’t as cut.
Given the amazing condition displayed by many at the contest this year, there was no way he was going to make top 10.
ahh, i see. Guess i’ll have to try and find some pre-judging photos. To bad for him. Hes going to to a melvin, great physique but can never hit his peak at the right time. lol. always next year…

As a Red Sox fan, I heard that for 25 years before it came true…
Just saying

I hope they kissed him first, because they certainly fucked him. Dude certainly looked better than branch IMO
Really weird 'cause it’s supposed to be the new era where aesthetics reinged, but two freaky guys just slapped Dex.
Congrats to Cutler, I think he truly deserved it.

Caught me the fuck off guard before I realized what he meant.
Hahaha yes. When he said that I was like OMG BRANCH WON?! Fucking Bob Chic and his jokes.
x3 man, Branch definitely did a great job, but I don’t think he’s Mr. Olympia material.

He just seemed like an afterthought for everyone. If people weren’t all about Jay it was Kai and Branch. Even the announcers.
Kai’s posing routine was the best IMO outside of the popping and locking, but he seemed to quit and cut it short.
Observation: during the Coleman years, size was the main criteria for winning. Cutler took over and continued that reign. I seriously thought the reign of size for the sake of size was over with Dex’s win last year…that the rewards were now for the ideal lines and fantastic shape.
Well, this year a new standard was rewarded: density.
I’ll take Kai as an example. The man is enormous…the man has the best back poses of anyone competing today (well…maybe Stubbs…but that poor guy has no legs due to so many knee surgeries)…and he has good separation. But when you compare his density against Branch…or dare I say it…Jay…he looks soft.
Same thing with Phil this year…though he looked better today than yesterday…not necessarily in cuts, but he really filled out while maintaining the separation he had yesterday.
This doesn’t explain what happened to Dex though. Dex was dense as well. He was separated and cut…and he had the shape thing over both Jay and Branch.
Dex did indeed get screwed.
I expect him to retire after this.

the thing was that Cutler shocked everyone; I think it’s his best package we have ever seen.
Kai totally opposite, his conditioning nor his routine we’re better than the Arnold’s.

ditto here, at least on the jay comments. dex continues to bore me with the same physique, while cutler came back with better conditioning, a new body (wow at the waist), and fuckin bro-ass haircut. haircut not withstanding I was floored.

yup…because what can he do, Dex is the man though he brings it every year, he did get screwed BRANCH set the bar in this contest he came out 1st dry, hard, dense…but he doesn’t have it, the mr. O thing. that said he was on and i’m fucking happy for him.
also kai did appear softer but he does have that dense look when he’s conditioned, as i said if he nails it no one beats him. i’ll get off his tip now though.
SIDEBAR: JJ beat BW for world’s strongest BB, did ben kill him on the bench but get buried in the deadlift?

it’s like another kind of freakiness. Dex may have been Mr. O. last year, but I think that with this lineup it was very hard to say a top 3, even a top 6. Martinez was comp for none, but you see Kai’s physique, Phil’s arms which I think are the freakiest right now, and Branch and Jay made him look really opaque onstage. The Jay thing many saw it when the prejudging began, but Branch?
We’ll see next year if a trend qualifying density as the main factor goes on, 'cause this guys (maybe not Dexter) are gonna continue kicking their asses for a couple of years. Next year Vic, Heath, and Kai could be making more pressure.
Congrats to Jay, he was the best man on stage. Him bringing the type of physique to this years O says alot about him. Congrats to Branch for placing 2nd, much higher than I expected (I’m not a fan of his shape) but he deserved it. Dexter placing 3rd is shocking but I don’t exactly feel that he was screwed. He does have almost perfect proportions and shape, but hes tiny compared to Jay and even Branch. This is bodybuilding and you can’t reward the guy with great proportions even if he looks 20-30lbs lighter. Overall, as expected an amazing show.

JJ: 533 (or something like that) bench and BW:563 bench, That’s all I stayed for, but I guess in the DL JJ pulled 800+ and BW only pulled 650 or so.

Ben even attempted 600 and almost got it, props to him. There was also Efferding, really hardcore stuff! This is to be one of the thousand reminders for the guys who say that bb’s are weak.
