Im posting two pictures of my very weird shoulder blades… Its genetic because my dad has the same thing and I wish i didnt have it because it makes my back look scrawny… Is this a disadvatage to lifting or not?

it doesnt make your back look scrawny. you ARE scrawny. if your dads shoulder blades look the same, hes scrawny too. having no appreciable muscle on your back to cover up those shoulder blades is certainly not a disadvantage in weightlifting- its a reason to do it.
you obviously dont lift now, why are you here? when are you going to start lifting? btw, looking at these pics and the statements that came with them, when you start lifting, youll have to eat more as well.
its because your making them look like that, i think everyone can do that. EAT DAMNIT!!

i cant do that. i know how to do it, but when i try, my blades dont do that. but yes, i think its pretty common, as ive certainly seen perfectly healthy/mobile/athletic, etc people do that. theyve always been scrawny. i think it has something to do with liking looking like a bird or something. those are their wings. however, here at T-Nation, wings refer to huge, sweeping lats…which at some point we were all striving for in some aspect.

thats natural, you should see when I try to push them out, I’ll get more pictures, they stink out about 6 inches, no joke

dude you are definitely skinny. these pics show that you are skinny. unless you want to post up a pic of yourself, shirtless (but with pants on) from the front, showing your whole upper body, to prove that you arent skinny…then youre skinny, or to use your word, scrawny.
the pic of the shoulder cocked forward popping the blade out, as well as the pic from the back showing your “back boobs” definitely show a skinny/scrawny individual.
Ohh and my dad isnt scrawny, bench around3 75 or so in highschool, repped 100 pounds dumbells, squat idk maybe 500 or so. I deadlifted a pool table and messed my back up btw which makes my right shoulder blade stick out about 3 inches further than my left.

Dude, you’re scrawny. But you’re only 15 so just eat and lift.
I used to be able to do that, then I gained about 35 lbs of muscle and they don’t stick out anymore. Weird how that worked out, maybe try that yeah?
Do Rows
Do Chin Ups
Do Dips
Do Push-ups
Do Rear-Delt Rows to your face with a tricep rope
You need to fix those shoulders!

F Scott’s right, you need to do all of these. and dont forget to work your legs!
im not going to rag on you, because youre 15, your body is still figuring itself out, growing, etc. youre definitely in the “awkward years”…and thats no big deal. ill tell you the same thing i recently told my own 15 year old brother- if i knew at age 15 what i know now, i would have been jacked in high school. just because youre not my brother doesnt mean the same doesnt apply to you. while a lot of teens come on here asking ridiculous questions, any teen that gets on here and starts seriously reading the articles, and implementing the stuff into their own lives will be sooooo far ahead of the game.
if you put on some decent “jack” the next couple of years, you will be so far ahead of the game and have a much easier time of putting on/maintaining the “jack” for so many years of your life.
stick around here. but, id suggest sticking to reading. if you go back to the main page, by either typing in www.T-Nation.com or by clicking the testosterone link at the top, you can then find a link for authors, and go to each individual author’s archives, where youll find tons of training info, as well as nutrition. from my experience id suggest going back a year or two into Chad Waterbury’s archives for training info. just start reading, and use what you read. the info on this site is waaay better than whats in the muscle mags on the shelves in grocery stores. just read and ask questions if you cant find the answer in your own research. if you ask questions that can easily be answered by you doing some research on this site, people will let you know about it.
good luck.
You have some serious postural issue man! Fix it!!!
I had that to a degree…when I was smaller.
Some scapular work and a bunch of mass later it’s almost non-existent.
I look alot smaller because I used a $10 webcam to take those pictures thats why there blury and I look really pale. My arm, legs, and shoulders are pretty cut compared t 95% of kids in my school. Ive gained 15 pounds this year since August and lost some fat. The thing about the authors is that they normally all say different things(ex. CW said to lift face when doing your lifts to get maximum motor recruitment) I asked my strength and conditioning coach at my school, he use to be world strongman name is Mr. Neese, dont know his first name. He said it sounded like BS. This is my first year I could actually do alot of pushups, chins, and dips.
Yeah… its the web cam that made you scrawny…
