ODD Shoulder Blades

I look alot smaller because I used a $10 webcam to take those pictures thats why there blury and I look really pale. My arm, legs, and shoulders are pretty cut compared t 95% of kids in my school. Ive gained 15 pounds this year since August and lost some fat. The thing about the authors is that they normally all say different things(ex. CW said to lift face when doing your lifts to get maximum motor recruitment) I asked my strength and conditioning coach at my school, he use to be world strongman name is Mr. Neese, dont know his first name. He said it sounded like BS. This is my first year I could actually do alot of pushups, chins, and dips. [/quote]

Cheap $10 webcams would make you look bigger if anything by being blurry, having bad lighting and hiding details…but anyway. It’s good that you’re making progress in the gym and you got the right idea for someone your age, and it’s also good that you’re better than the general AVERAGE population…BUT that really isn’t something you should compare yourself to if you want to impress anybody, especially on this site, where if you ain’t swole you ain’t shit haha.

You need to stop being so defensive and just take some good advice that’s been given. Eat more, gain mass, work out hard with the exercises listed…then gauge if there’s improvement. Not to come off like an asshole but seriously…you don’t look small because of a cheap webcam, you look small because you are small. You have no discernable muscle or definition, carry a decent amount of bodyfat, and could pass as a guy who has never touched a weight.

There’s no way your “arm, legs, and shoulders are pretty cut compared t 95% of kids in my school” because you have nothing to show…unless all the kids at school are obese. I understand you’re also 6’0 which makes it a lot harder to look jacked, but come on man…take a long hard look in the mirror. Like I said, it’s fucking great to see someone your age enthusiastic about the gym and making themselves better…but sometimes you gotta realize that getting better means changing your perspectives too. Good luck to you.

ok, so cheap webcams subtract 40 lbs of mass and creatine makes your eyeballs explode?

By the way, use T-Nation authors over a personal trainer or a “coach” at school. These guys have degrees and really know this shit.

The thing about the cam is it doesnt show me looking cut and veins and what not. If I wear a sleeveless shirt some kids are like showing off them guns I see. But yes I know I’m not huge compared to few people on this site.

Height I know doesnt help on lifts but I can deadlift at least twice my body weight around 350. I probably am to defensive but I have been making progress and I’m doing a cut right now, hopefully to lose 10 pounds or more. I’ll post later hopefully if I get a digital camera so you can see clearly.

Look the dude up he won world strongman some year a while back I know for sure. He benches I think 635 somewhere around there, he is legit and prolly knows a thing about it since he went to college for the stuff then stopped because he relized what he really liked…

Wait, so you gained 15 lbs and now you are trying to lose 10 or more?

omg dont cut you’ll die plz dont

Looks like you have winging scapula, probably caused by a weakness in the serratus anterior.

Try doing push-ups with your feet on a bench, db pull-overs, wood choppers and others exercises that target the serratus.

askjeff that is the longest gap between posts I think I’ve ever seen on this site. 4 years of lurking and that’s the post that drove you out? haha

Yeah i gained about 15 pounds of muscle, I still have fat if you cant tell which im going to try and lose

Usually somebody with more knowledge and experience than I has already responded with sound advice by the time I read a thread.

I thought the kid deserved a better answer that “dude, you’re skinny”

You have bones showing through on your shoulders. Why do you want to lose that minimal amount of fat? So they can show even more?

so he can see those wicked striations in his scapula

but seriously, i highly doubt you pull 350 with traps like that. you need to strengthen up your serratus badly, pushups time, dips, pressing etc, and tons of rowing… basically please eat more and stop being so defensive towards some of the guys on this site who know their shit (not me)

hahah that’s one of the funniest posts I’ve seen in a while.

You do realize theyre making fun of you, right?

Oh yes, did you gain all that weight on the cereal diet?

Look bro, im only 18…i know where your at…however ill tell you right now after lifting pretty hard for five years (got in the weightroom thanks to football…saved my life) i still dont kno a lot and i read like a banshee…you need to do more research, learn your stuff, workout long enough to experiment with what works for your body and mostly stop making excuses. You are 15, you are probably bigger than no one on this site. Just eat a shitload, lift, and listen to guys who kno their stuff.

my best piece of advice…(if i can give any)…There are a thousand theories in the world of bodybuilding/dieting etc as to what works best…do your DAMN RESEARCH and figure out what works for you. 'nough said.

Cut the OP some slack. He asked a legitimate Q.
If your shoulder blades stick out like that WITHOUT trying, i.e. when you’re relaxed; you need to fix you scapular winging as a priority. This means all you other training goes on hold (probably only for a few months)and you do what you need to fix it (see EC’s articles).

When you get back to ‘normal’ training you will soon get back to your current strengh level (‘muscle memory’) and you’l be able to train more productively as you will be less likely to be injured,

  1. See a specialist if you’re really that concerned. A forum is not the place for advice on this sort of thing.
  2. Stop comparing yourself to your high school freshman class. So what you’re bigger than 95% of freshman at your school, you’re definitely smaller than most kids from my freshman year in high school. 10 dollar camera or not, don’t make excuses.
