bench night- decided to stick with the reverse grip as the main ME for this cycle. they are feeling much more comfortable and my shoulder is thanking me. i estimated my max on reverse grip at 500. last week i worked up to 80%, this week i worked up to 85% for 3. next week it will be 90% for 1 or 2.

Liked reverse grip a lot again. 265 didn’t feel that heavy. I did some DB Benching instead of rack lockouts because my right shoulder has been bothering me and lockouts hurt it a lot. Was pretty PUMPED UP when leaving the gym.
I always learn something new when I come over here. Reverse grip bench? Wild.

yeah… dave just turned 50. he’s the strongest he’s ever been. he’s about my height- 5’8"-9" and weighs around 240. He benches in the 400’s, squats in the 600’s and deads in the high 600’s.

Thats it… was planning on more hack squats but my back was cramping up a bit. That deadlift last week really took it out of me, plus we have not been doing back squats for quite a while, but they feel pretty good considering that. Just wanted to see how 405 felt, and it was a pretty easy rep actually. Cant wait to start hitting them hard again and be working my way toward 500. ![]()
Short session tonight since scott’s daughter was sick and he couldnt make it. We will hit it harder next week im sure. We will be rotating ME deads/squats week to week again now, and im excited for that. As much as I love deadlifting im ready for a break from going heavy on them every week.

Great night. Hit that reverse 325 but I’m pretty sure its aggravating my shoulder. I switched to regular and hit it again and it didn’t bother me quite as much, so I think I’m going to stop doing the reverse grip so heavy. Everything else felt great. Shoulder felt good and I left feelin’ pumped. ![]()

well… they are all PR’s considering i’ve never done reverse grip bench before. It’s really not that big of a PR. i would love to hit weight PR’s like that on regular bench, squat or deads… but those days are gone forever.

thanks tony!! i’ve pretty much hit a wall now. if i want to drop more, i’ll have to really do some cutting back and i don’t want to do that. i’m sticking around 250. that’s a good weight for me.
