Awesome night. Worked up to a 5 rep set which wasnt too bad then did some lockouts. We then went to reverse grip bb bench to try for the first time… and I worked up to 225 and it felt like nothing. I kept working up til I hit 315 and almost hit a wall with it but managed to power through. I think I hit that wall because my back cramped so bad… whenever we bench for a ton of sets and im trying to arch as much as I can it does that, and 315 hit me hard. Regardless of that, and being fatigued by time I got to it, I managed 315 paused. I did have on sleeves at that point, which might help a little at the bottom… but from the testing ive done with them on or off, they really dont seem to do much for strength.
Anyway, im going to start trying my main benching like this, and see how it goes. Its perfectly legal in competition, and would be fun to get up there and do that while competing, lol. ![]()

deadlift night- hit a huge elevated dead tonight. the elevation on my deads is right at my sticking point. it’s a Efffing grinder to start from this point. i grinded out 675 tonight. it wasn’t pretty or fast but i got it. i’m hoping that its setting me up for a dead from the floor around 700.
elevated deads- about 3 inches (mid shin)

495x1- thought about hitting 585 next but i opted to go right to 675. it was the right choice.
675x1- used straps because i figured it would be a long grinder and didn’t even want to think about my grip.

I pulled this tonight because I decided on not doing the competition this weekend, since scott and dave cant go. If I went I would end up spending about 200 bucks on the meet / gas / food, etc… so, im just going to wait until May 1st’s IPA state’s full powerlifting meet. My goal will be to pull 600 again then, which will be hard since deadlifts are last.
Felt pretty good pulling 600. ![]()
Next stepping stone will be 650… then lookin ahead to 700… haha

assistance day- bodyweight still around 245 in the morning.
pulldowns- some x 2…should have done more with a little heavier weight. i pulled my trap on my first pullup set with 90lbs. definitely was ready for that.

BW +90lbs X 3+ 20lb PR- i’ll stick with this weight for a couple weeks to get my reps up to 6, then i’ll go for my ultimate goal of 100lbs!!

BW x 6 - count of five at bottom on all of these. my plan is to not go over 6 reps on pullups, just try to find ways to make them harder and use more weight.

Good session, really got a nice pump going after all that. I dont think I need to go any higher than +45 on pullups til I can get some quality reps in. Nothing really exciting about the rest of it. By high reps I mean 15-20, sometimes 10. Most those machines vary gym to gym so there really isnt a point of posting the weight I guess.
Today is bench though… been excited all week about doing more reverse grip bench, and using it as my main bench press movement. ![]()
