Awesome work Joweeee, great progress!
bench night-i had high hopes for tonight but after three days of constant shoveling my biceps and forearms were toast.
foam press
135x6
225x6
315x4
405x2
495x1- stopped here, arms were really starting to ache
paused bench
405x1
lockouts
405x4
495x4
605x4 +2 rep PR
635x1 +30lb PR - this suprised me. i guess i have plenty of strength, just can’t lower with the fatigued biceps and forearms
reverse grip bench in smith machine
135x6
225x6
315x6 - got a video of these for steelyD
385x6 +20lb PR
close grip bench- paused and feet up
225x10
315x8
started out shitty but ended well. got a good bit of tricep work in.
nice work, especially considering how much work it is to make igloos.
Hey thanks for the vid! On your recommendation I’ve added these to the rotation (on arm day in my case) and DEFINITELY a keeper. I experimented with bar position, and I do hit the top of my stomach, but not quite as low as you do.
Question: When you say CGBP with “feet up”, do you mean like dead cockroach feet up? What does that do for you?
I usually do my CGBP’s with a 1/2 foam roll (“D” shape), but last night tried a mini version of Dave Tate’s Tricep Hell where he keeps adding a board during the set. I added the other half of the foam (full “O”). Was excellent hitting the triceps as well.
Welcome to MY world!
Nice work, I hear you on being fried from shoveling. However here it is enough of a constant that you begin to get conditioned for it:)
Nice work, I like those reverse grip smith presses,
I remember the strongman & russian PL types in Brooklyn doing those
on a regular bench, back at a different gym I trained at.
I always count the shoveling as a deadlift day-
3,5678,909, reps at 25 pounds.

It was like this right after Christmas here in Nebraska. They take all of the snow from every parking lot at my university and put it in one big pile across from my dorm building, at one point the pile was quite a bit higher than the streetlights.
On a training note, it amazes me how you are able to do so many variations in each session. You always have several heavy pressing movements, several heavy dead movements, and several heavy squat movements in almost every session it seems.
After my first heavy movement, I am usually spent and just do some light work. Maybe I need to stop being a pussy.
Nice training guys! How is the snow down there… still hanging around or starting to melt? I should post some pics of the snow up here… doesn’t even bother us anymore… well… me anyhow. I am still trying to find a way to hibernate for the winter.

i’m starting to move away from so much heavy work in the same session. on deadlift day we are only do one heavy ME movement and then following with DE and RE stuff.
with bench we will be doing the same. the only time i feel like i can get away with two heavy movements is when the ROM is very limited such as lockouts on bench after a heavy movement. the longer the ROM the harder it is on me.

we are in the processes of getting another foot or so. that would bring us up to over three feet. we don’t have anywhere to put it down here. i do enjoy getting out in my big truck and playing in the snow. don’t usually get to do that. plus it’s fun to watch all the freak’n idiots. it seems that whenever we get a little snow people forget how to drive and disregard all laws of the road… what’s a stop sign???
flying squirrels hibernate in very warm panties.
peeps do love to play bumper carz in the snow

heheheh… same as up here brother. Takes people about a month to adjust.
Panties, mmm. Panties: Not the best thing on earth, but next to the best thing on earth.
Its funny you guys are getting more snow down your way then we are up here in NH. You and your two lifting buds are just getting crazy strong. Wish I could join the group.

they are both getting very strong.
I wish you could join the group as well. It would be very hard for me train the way i do without those guys.
deadlift night- things are really clicking with my deadlift now.
sumo pulls- elevated about 3 inches
135x6
225x6
315x4
405x3
495x1
635x1
675x0- missed right at the knee. if i had pulled it from the floor the moment would have carried me through that sticking spot. i also think i would have gotten it if i went to that instead of hitting 635 first. either way, i’m very happy with the progress. 700 is right around the corner.
speed pulls
315x3x6
hack squat machine
2plates x 50
standing calf raise
a lot x 100 r/p- i upped the weight significantly and dropped back to 100 reps from 200 reps.
bodyweight 248.
That is some sick pulling, especially at that bodyweigt. Nice work.

thank you… deadlift has always been my nemisis. my goal is 3X bodyweight dead.
thanks again.
jowee hit an easy 585 dead tonight. he’s definitely got 600 in him. i’ll get a vid up later of his pull. he’s also offically heavier than me now.
