Recently as I’ve been going to the gym I’ve been feeling increasingly deflated and tired I was wondering if it was a result of the fact that I leave for the gym at 4:30 PM and my last meal is around 12-1 (I’m a student) and that I may not have energy in me to do my lifts to the best of my ability. Should I be having a high carb pre workout meal? advice would be greatly appreciated
I personally would not do a real high Carb drink. A simple protein shake and a fruit would work wanders.

I agree with this too. Carrying around a shake and a banana is pretty convienient too.
In a pinch, sometimes I just grab a low carb monster.
As was said eat/drink something.
Also when I’m feeling lazy late in the day, I’ll do a longer warm up while listening to something loud. There’s something to be said for getting mentally in the game before you start.

I agree with the mental aspect
I keep a piece of fruit handy in my office, since I lift as soon as I get home. Eat it (sometimes with a diet coke) about 30-45 minutes before I get off. Helps me tremendously.

To add to this, try doing some explosive jumps(vertical or box Jumps) or plyo push-ups off a bench, activation work like that will really fire up the CNS if done correctly and get you good and ready for training.

I like Biotest’s spike. That stuff is amazing and 1 gives me more than what a no-doze or two will.
