I did not eat “Clean” at the age of 17, but then again I did not have access to the kind of information that you do at your age.
If I had T-Nation at 17, you’d better fucking believe that I would have taken advantage of it!

I wont disagree with you in priciple, but I think there is a fair amount of interpretation as to what ‘eating clean’ means.
If someone is healthy and staying especially lean isn’t a priority then why eat cleaner than necessary if eating a few snacks every now and then makes ‘the lifestyle’ more enjoyable.
Not eating clean all the time has nothing to do with dedication unless we are talking about a bodybuilder approaching a competition. Fat guys: Don’t read into that toooo much.
I tried the whole eat clean all the time thing and it sucked. Now I eat whatever I want (not recommending to everyone) and I am bigger and happier because of it. Granted I have deep tendon attachments in my abdominals and I cant lose my abs even if I try (and I have tried). But my point is if someone is pleased with their progress, assuming they are making progress of course, lowering carbs or adjusting nutrient timining shouldn’t be a major concern. Having a balanced diet full of essential nutrients is very important for long term progress.

I agree completely. I enjoy this. I look forward to lifting weights and eating, because it isn’t a chore. I clean up my diet when trying to drop weight, but the majority of the time, while I do focus on what I eat, I am not trying to win some award for eating “cleaner” than everyone else. I’ll go eat some hot wings in a second if my goal is to add more size…and frankly, the more muscle you have on you, the MORE you can get away with this.
Why would someone who isn’t fat but weighs a lot due to a shit load of muscle be that concerned with “eating clean” instead of “eating to grow”?
I get what your saying, and principle is what it’s about for me. I know different people handle some types of food better then others, and that’s cool.
My main problem with this guy and some other members that have seemed to surface over the past few weeks is;
They start threads asking for advice, in the OP’s case, about Carb Cycling, and after 2+ pages of responses from members giving him advice and tips, and links to articles and things to read, he turns around and says “you know what, I can’t be bothered to eat like that, so I’ll give it a miss”.
I think that’s fucking bullshit! They have all this advice, FOR FREE, and they can’t be bothered to take advantage of it??

I never realized there was an AGE REQUIREMENT for clean eating. The world makes a lot more sense now!
But seriously, why the cheap cop-out? Just admit you won’t or can’t eat clean, don’t blame shit on being 17.

OP you just recently made a thread about carb cycling. We told you that you need to start eating clean first and then you can think about doing an advanced method like carb cycling.
Your response was “honestly, I’m not the kind of guy who is going to eat clean”
I don’t think you’re ready.
Agreed…and I don’t need the extra pms either.

Before you can possibly challenge Mr. Pitt on any level at all, you’d better work on the pms. Seriously.

Forget that. I challenge Mr. Pitt right now to a Clothes Off scheduled in September. If he doesn’t show, I win.

What? You guys are taking your clothes off together? He doesn’t need to show up. You’ll do. I’ll bring popcorn.

Better shoot high, I smell an e-competition brewing…
Yes. I do eat clean even though it’s embarrassing as hell to have to ask my friends to drive me home early because I have to eat. I never woke up at 445, but I did wake up at 515 every morning of the school year to lift while playing fall and spring sports.
