Been lifting for 1 week, first dead lifting I did 100 pounds x 20 reps. Hardest thing I ever did.

That’s kind of a tough way to start out.
Why did you decide to dead lift for 20 reps?
Well maybe I should not have. We were in the gym, mate said, how many times do you think you could dead lift 100 pounds, I said 20 times, mate said no way, so I did it, fist 10 were easy, but got so hard so fast, lucky it was at the end of the workout, cos had to sit down for half hour. But made my mind up to do 150 x 20 in a few months, as I am aching all over.

Haha I love high rep deadlifts nothing makes you realize how truly stupid you are until you have pulled close to double body weight for 10+
Why stupid, are you a troll.
He’s not saying you are stupid, he is saying a “Why the hell do I do this to myself?” type of thing. To the answer if he is a troll, he is definitely not a troll.
No no no Newlifter you misunderstood me not calling you stupid for doing it. I’m saying they are stupid tough and make you hate your self for awhile. With that being said though 100lbs on a standard Barbell is going to have you pulling from a pretty low deficit putting you into a not so great form for pulling such a high number of reps. Also seeing as it was your first time your form is probably not great to begin with and I highly suggest you posting up a video of you doing a few basic movements so we can help you out . I’m not bashing you at all congrats on the PR and glad you have taken up lifting but, it is really smart to learn it correctly now than to have to reteach your self a year or so from now.

Seriously though, I don’t think anybody LIKES squats in a non-masochistic way.
And… Breathing Squats, 195 x 20. Still unpleasant. Lol.
Conventional deadlift 360X1 10 pound personal record, and would actually pass in a meet (opposed to the 350 I did previously) I also felt like I might have had more in me
hyper extensions emphasizing erectors/plate on chest
10X20
that’s about it today for personal records that I feel like mentioning/aren’t by default.

Yes, we all know we would rather pull heavy than squat. I convinced myself (it actually had good reason) that I should have deadlifted instead of squatting today. I needed a semi-accurate max, and I really, really, wanted to go hit a PR on my deadlift.

I like squats. Just not in sets of more than 3 lol.
I like squats more than benching.
Bench
210x1x6
Feeling run down from my volume day, still. I didn’t think I’d get 5.
Lowrep squats are awesome. singles or 2’s or triples. 5x5 is terrible. But it gives me gains so i don’t give a ****

The worst thing I ever did was high rep squats. Basically ‘pick this weight, start squatting, get fifty reps in as few sets as possible’. I wanted to die. But my body weight shot through the roof without actually eating that much more.
I just recently hit 265 on squat. It’s light, unfortunately, but somewhat acceptable for my first month of serious training. I agree with a love for squats being masochistic. Haha. Lookin’ forward to more progress!

I’m talking about strength-wise. At this point, mass for me atleast, comes with strength.
That’s how it is to be a noob - Lifting for 6 months total. “Yolo”. lol.
330 for 10 Back Squats
530 for Single Sumo Deadlift nothing but a belt and chalk.
will post up link to video in Log.
Just finished my first three weeks of 5/3/1, so I got a few nice rep maxes:
Back Squat 150kg for 7
Conventional Deads: 180kg for 7
This at 85kg of (not lean) bodyweight.
Also did 4 sets of Kroc Rows at 34kg for 20 reps, and then a final strapped set for 30 reps.
Standing Strict Press 185 for 7. Probably had 8 but did 3 sets of 5 with 185 leading up to it.
BB Rows 165 X 6.
T-bar Rows 195 X 10
255X8 sumo stance romanian deadlift
arched back extensions
20X13
hanging leg raises to the chin up bar
bwX8
These are some from today. I am attacking all sorts of back extensions, round back trying to use mostly just the erectors, arched back, various locations of loaded, ect. I suck at them, and they fatigue everything back then when done with an arched back, and feel great for my back when done for high reps, and a round back.

Agreed. Except 5x5 isn’t giving me the same great gains it used to, so I’m not too sad to see it go.
Power snatch: 65kg x 3, then 67.5kg x 3, then 70kg x 3
Also, fit into an XL shirt pretty comfortably. Hell yeah!
Squat-255x15 today
