6 month training experience, testing my maxes before doing a routine I got from a powerlifter at my gym. had to use some percentages! - We did the big three that day. He watched my form, everything was powerlifting-meet approved. (going to first meet in september) - Pretty excited. Hope I don’t mess up.
Used to deadlift sumo. Recently changed up to classic.

NICE LIFTS EVERYBODY![/quote]
Nice to have you man, I don’t post much in the PL forum but I read alot of things in every forum and they are very knowledgable. I’m sure they would be more than willing to answer any questions

Yeah they’re all very nice in here - I’ve got some pointers on my deadlift and bench, so everything is great
210X3 narrow grip bench press
205X12 bent over row with semi loose form
That’s about it from today’s personal records, everything else is either not worth mentioning, or just higher volume/density. The bench was not really that hard, I actually tried 215 but just couldn’t seem to get any speed built up on the third rep.
Strangely, the squats seem to actually becoming “easier” physically, and “harder” mentally. I keep wanting to just rack the bar, because I’m “bored” or I don’t “feel like” doing the squats today. It’s strange how the mind works.
Only 10 more lbs before I actually exceed my prior 200 x 20, but this time breathing-style, which seems to be quite a bit harder (for me). There’s a lot more stress on my back (mid and upper) because of the additional time spent supporting the barbell.
overhead press: 100 for 5x5. Not groundbreaking, but the heaviest volume work I’ve done overhead recently. I also hit 200 for 5x5 olympic squats today. Slowly getting back there…

Nice on getting back strength, did you get injured/sick?
Since the forums decided to devour my post yesterday in this thread:
230X2 wide grip floor press, was A LOT easier than my previous best of 215X3 three-four weeks ago
205X13 bent over row
I’m going to try to do at least 265X6 for a wide stance pause squat (trying to start somewhat conservative) today.

I went on a two week cycling trip through Ireland. At the same time, my gym started to move to a different location and was insufficiently equipped for several months. So I decided to quit lifting for the first time in over two years and see what happens. What I’ve found i the process is that, while you theoretically could build and maintain strength with calisthenics, it simply isn’t for me right now. I need the barbell as a tangible object to see progress and stay motivated.
