New PR's

First time I ever tried heavy power cleans! They’re a lot of fun. Power cleaned 80kg.

Also incline DB bench for a few sets of 7 with the 80lbers.

You say that as though it is an accomplishment, Apok. It takes me forever to even find L shirts that fit my back/traps/shoulders correctly. That was when I was 10 pounds lighter! Now the clothes I bought that were comfortable fit snug/even awkward in those areas, and the chest. But It gives more than enough extra room in the stomach… I’m also mid 150’s.

But hey, it’s your PR! Congrats :).
LOL that’s insane! Not sure how you’re fiting an L in the mid-150s. I’m in the mid-180s now. Course, your numbers look pretty good for your weight, so you’re probably jacked, and my build is like thick limbs, narrow torso.

I’m carrying a lot of weight on the lower body, though. That’s definitely my strong point. Already can’t find pants that fit my legs and my waist. I think this is the last time I will be able to shop in regular stores for jeans…
I feel like you just described my body type to a T
I vaguely remember somebody saying something once about wanting to buy XL shirts and get asked if they shopped at the baby gap… Maybe I’ll make that my goal too.

Are you doing these on a straight bar or what do you mean by chin to bar? I usually do dips on parallel handles and consider the bottom to just be shoulders below elbows.

I was wondering the same thing. Unless you’re doing them parallel and actually going down, well, chin to the level of the bar.

I’ve just been going low enough to get my upper arms parallel to the floor and back up. I guess that’s basically the same as shoulders below elbows.

That was me lmao

OHP
180 x 1 x 3
and I’m done w/ LP on OHP: yay?

Sorry bad description. The parrell bars I use are only about 2 ft long and are attached to a square frame bolted into the wall. When I do dips facing inwards toward the wall my chin will touch the bar/frame of the handles. Basically I’m dropping my chin to the exact depth that my hands are… Very flexible in the shoulders arms are more at 60 degree angle rather than 90 degree and parrell to floor. Very hard stretch in the bottom.

225X1 wide grip competition pause bench press
175X10 wide grip bent over row with 2 second hold

That’s about it worth mentioning today.

Banging skanks and wearing tanks…Merica

135X10 zercher lunges
90X12 one leg DB romanian deadlifts

My back shat itself again… This time the upper erectors during dynamic effort squats. Backs feeling good, staying tight, ect. Then what I felt was horrific as I thought it was going to be worse than it ended up. Whenever I strain a muscle, there’s a tingling/painful sensation, then it loses tension. Whenever that’s happened I either have to drop it, or it is an agonizingly slow, and painful lift even if it a light weight.

BTN Presses 90lbs, 3x12
Dips BW + 15, 3x12
Breathing Squats 185 x 20 (PR on breathing squats, but not on 20rep squats)

My shoulders seem to finally be stabilizing themselves, so that the dips are actually much smoother without much lateral movement. It’s really interesting how “painful” and “difficult” some exercises are when you first start out, just because your body hasn’t worked out the movement patterns and stabilizers are weak. I think a lot of people forget that.

Nice job on the squats. I’ve been following your log because I am interested in your high volume squats. I want to see how well you progress with that type of squat training. I feel that the higher volume give me the best gains with squats. I haven’t tried 20’s yet but I messed around with the Nubret pump training a little and I loved the squat volume.

smolov base meso. 3 weeks worked wonders for me

It looks fun. It’s looks more like a power lifting routine to me, lot’s of heavy volume I will definitely keep this in mind for when I reach a sticking point in my squats. Right now I’m doing Layne Norton’s PHAT but I’ve switched the squats out for deads until I can pull 450. Once I achieve this I will switch back ans hit the squats hard until I can get to the four plate mark.

I promised myself to stick with this program for at least six months. I am ADD when it comes to lifting and I switch stuff up probably more than I should.

Iron Dwarf said before that he had his best gains with 30 rep squats when he did them.

I’m not sure how far I can progress with it, but I’ll probably keep pushing it for awhile. I know there are people around here who can and have done some crazy squat volumes; zraw, hungry4more, and bauber to name just a couple.

Take a look at this log entry: Bauber's Training Log - Training Logs - Forums - T Nation

I was checking that out earlier. That dude is a beast, insane heavy volume, just reading his log makes my legs hurt.

Today was productive…

Power clean: 2x90kg
Back squat: 2x325lbs, too bad I fell forward on the 3rd rep LOL
Front squat: 10x175lbs

385 for 11 and half Sumo Deadlift. Never did these before done with no Belt chalk only.

@Reed:

Holy shit, just noticed how crazy huge your traps look in your avi. Haha who needs a neck anyway?

My PR of the day:
Incline DB Bench 5x85lbs

Back squat: 135kg x 6

Clean and jerk: 80kg x 1
