Back squat PR - 340 x 4
*3rd week of 5/3/1 (2nd cycle)

Do any of you regularly do o-lifts?

DSSG- what was the injury? Just curious

A deep muscle in the back seems to be strained. My back was cramping up by that point and I felt a pop as if something went out of place when rack pulling (and I didn’t even have a form break down in that set or even that day). It popped back in place today, and I went to the doctor to find that there is no damage to the bone. Never do rows with a low torso angle the day before squatting or deadlifting.

I am not too worried about it, just heat, massages, take it easy on the lower back for the next few days, (choose exercises more friendly to the back) and I will probably be fully healed up a week from now.

Sounds like an old sex injury…

No… I injected it into my glutes, duh

365lbs High Bar 12in Box Squat for 6.

Didnt feel like piling on the weight and did
285x10 squat, havent done that before, so it is a PR for me.

Who’s that chinese guy who snorts his creatine on youtube? Frank something…

Not Frank Zane right?

“No… I injected it into my glutes, duh” - The only logical way

@DSSG. I hope the recovery goes well. I just got my deadlift back after 10 weeks of nothing involving my lower back cause of a strain. 3 weeks of PT too. I’m gonna take the next 2 months to build back up to where I was.

Frank Yang

165X6 three second pause close grip bench press
180X7 snatch grip bent over row
60X8 weighted neutral grip pull up
185X18 shrug with 3 second hold

Thanks, yes hopefully I will make a full recovery soon enough. It only hurts to try to have flexion of the spine, and I seem to have lost a tiny bit of mobility (Just from pain).

245X6 high bar medium stance 3 second pause squat

145X9 sumo stance one armed deadlift

My back is getting better ;).

For about a week or so ive been doing rep maxes in different rep ranges like that 531 suggests doing but the funny thing is …using that formula (weight x reps x .0333 + weight) ive been getting roughly the same number for 1rm.

At least i know it is acceptable math to use, to see if you are progressing…

Field, what lifts are you doing it for? And did you try it for deadlifts?

205X1 close grip floor press, it was relatively easy could of gotten 210 if I didn’t flare my elbows on the floor (as painful as it sounds)
205X7 bent over row
5 second pause floor press 170X6

It feels oh so good to get some heavy lifting done while I am hydrated and full of carbs :D.

435lbs High Bar Squat. 10lbs PR.

295X1 low bar medium stance squat This was done a lot more upright than usual (been doing that because of hurting back, will go back to my more bent over style)
225X12 glute bridge

Does anyone else notice that quad dominate lifts tend to be great for reps, but when dropping down to 1-2 rep max you suck in comparison? It seems like that for me, quad dominate=good at high rep, bad at low rep hip dominate=shit at high rep, good at low rep.

Bench Press 205x11, had a rep or two in the tank. Felt good

Agreed

I will be getting to see how much my wide stance squat has improved soon. Maybe try to get around 300 for a wide stance pause squat (not as wide as geared lifters tend to be) next week, and test all of my lifts about three-four days afterwards.
