New PR's

Squat Snatch PR 185 x 1
Squat PR 306 x 6
*started the second 5/3/1 cycle yesterday

@Reed Pretty cool, interesting dynamic when you start training your girlfriend though… I just started my girlfriend on a lifting program because she was showing a lot of interest. We went through a 4 week cycle to get her under a bar and used to the lifts, doing basic 5x5s. Yesterday we found her Squat 1RM is 115, probably higher but she’s still getting used to the weight on her back. Her body weight is 108 lbs soaking wet.

Just keep her motivated lots of positive re enforcement. I don’t know about your girl but my wife is definitely not like training with another guy she is a beaswt but everything is different on the mental side.

205X12 yates row
145X12 low incline bench press with 3 second pause
35X17 ultra wide weighted pull up

Some of today’s, I will be going for a rep max at 225 in a few days for low bar/medium stance squats.

Weighted dips with a 36kg kettlebell for 3 sets of 6 and 1 set of 5.

Bench: 145x2, 135x5

Squats: 225x1 ATG

deadlift: 275x1

dips: bwx4

375 X 1 Low-bar Squat (10lb PR)

low bar medium stance squat 245X12
barbell rollout 270X15

That is some great squatting for me :).

thank you.

Deadlifts: 4x3x175kg, then 3x185kg. First time doing DLs for reps at over 400lbs

315 lbs High Bar Squat for 17 reps at 220lbs body weight.

I lost count if I had realized I was at 17 reps I would have gotten the sand out of my vagina and got my 20 :-(. Have video but it’s sideways will post if any one just gives a poop.

315X5 conventional deadlift
215X12 sumo stance romanian deadlift
205X15 barbell glute bridge

I didn’t psych my self up for the lift, it was basically something I could pull anytime I think, it was still a ballbustingly hard grind. Nice on the PR, reed. Do you rest pause the reps, or just take a breath of air, go down and repeat?

Usually a mixture it starts out as just getting air and going but around 10 I start having to extend rest at the top espeacially getting around 15 there may be 10+ seconds between reps.

Have you noticed glute bridges help your deadlift much? I was thinking of implementing them to try and help my deadlift out a little. lower back/glutes are quickly becoming the weak point in my deads.

With out a doubt Andrew. One Leg Hip Thrusts are the exact movement I am contributing to my Squat and Deadlift numbers going up. Although I was always weak in the Glute and Ham area. My lower back how ever is bull strong.

Hip Thrusts and Glute Bridges will also re-enforce and strengthen the final pull at just past your knees to help reach full extension.

Back Squat 325 x 5

Was pumped about my new rep PR until I saw Reed did 315 for 17 reps, nice work man.

My weakness for my conventional deadlift I think is my glutes and abs. When I miss a deadlift it is because of one of three things: My abs being too weak, my grip giving out, or I just simply can’t finish the pull above the knees/at the thigh. All three of those showed, but my hips managed to finish the lift.

I am not sure about my numbers for my conventional deadlift, but after doing speed pulls again with a conventional stance from the floor/deficit and hammering my glutes/legs my deadlift has the strength I lost from not doing DE work back and also is the strongest I have ever been with the deadlift. I had gotten strong with squats, good mornings, rack pulls, sumo deadlifts, natural glute hamraises, rows, shrugs ect, but my conventional stance was getting weaker until I started doing dynamic effort work for it again.

Bench Press 225x7, my back is coming along and seems I will be deadlifting again in the next few weeks. I’m struggling with how to get back into 5/3/1 with it…

295lbs BTN Jerk.

Not the most ever put overhead but have never done this movement with this. Just barely missed 300.
I know the video is prob going to be sped up but here of is.

Edit : it didn’t load here is a URL to the video on Facebook.

sweet, will definitely try and add in some dynamic work here soon. I reset my deadlift max a week back because my form was getting screwed up but I between this dynamic work and farmers carries it should pop up soon i’m thinking

todays pr: 145X6 barbell rows pretty clean

Deadlift 443 x 5
Press 145 x 6

(Week 2 of second consecutive 5/3/1)
