Reed, are you still training with the conjugate method? [/quote]

DSSG hey man sorry it took so long to respond to you I just saw where you asked the question. But yes I am most definitely still following Conjugate System. Why you ask. Shoot me a PM so we don’t hijack the page unless it’ll be relevant to it.

So me and Kristi just got done crushing some Squats. Both of us had a good session both setting a Squat PR. I worked up to 405lbs close stance high bar with blue bands for a single. Then Kristi got 170lbs looked easier than her 160lbs a few weeks ago. She is kicking major butt.

Then I wanted to see how many times I could Squat my original Max. 6 yearas ago I barely Squat 135lbs for a single today I got 57 reps. Had more but conditioning is aweful.

Deadlift: 175kgx3. Not sure if it counts as I think it’s tied with an old rep PR, but I’m 13lbs lighter this time, so that’s better.

Fat bar deadlift: 85kgx7.

that’s freaking awesome improvement Reed. You’re really digging the high rep squats lately huh?

My PR today: BB Bench two very clean sets of 205X3

Jm press 105X9,
close grip bent over row 165X12 strict
45X10 wide grip weighted pull ups strict

It was just an idle question from you saying you will be doing a powerlifting meet.

Thanks man. Yeah I am really trying to bring my squat up as it has always been very sub par considering my bodyweight. Ever since I started adding a big Rep set after my ME work has really helped me find my groove in the movement and not to mention really helping with conditioning.

Oh ok understood. But yes am still following Conjugate Method all I did was switch all the overhead ME with Bench ME and then using strict and push presses as assistance. Also added high Rep finisher sets for main moves. Doing back work in every session. Also, instead of switching exercises every week I have started to use the Squat and Bench for almost every ME movement to really learn it for the meet but, am switching assistance moves and reps each week.

good luck prepping for the meet Reed. I’ll keep an eye in here to see how you’re doing. Btw guys I just started a training log the other day, Ill post the link. Feel free to follow it if you’d like, I’m trying to get as many people following as possible to get some outside input. Heres the link

Sumo stance anderson good mornings off #10 pin
255X3
#2 pin rack pull 280X8
zercher lunges 100X15

I got a 20 pound PR for my good morning :D.

First post hit a squat atg 240 for 3x5

OHP 145 x 5

80lbs DB Seated Military Press for 6

yates row 205X8
kirk shrugs 160X15

I injured a pec… I was properly warmed up and felt fine today until doing my lockout work and it felt off… So I went to do some CG floor presses instead and it felt fine until I started to have pain. Perhaps it is a good sign to spend some energy on the only muscle for pressing I don’t train much when it heals up.

Errr… Feeling pretty beat up guys.

After hurting my knee in November, I managed to squeak out a bench PR in December and get close to an OHP PR around the same time.

But then I had a really bad bout of food poisoning and couldn’t do anything or even eat properly for around three weeks. Got back into a routine just to get beat up by the flu/cold that put me down for another week. Started squatting again and my knee is still bothering me, so I’m hoping it’s not something serious. My body is not happy lately.

415lbs new life time PR. I know it looks sloppyish but this is my second single with it my camera girl missed my first set with it so had to do it again lol. I love you Kristi <3. Seriously my first one looked awesome awesome.

sorry to hear that man, hope your slump ends soon and you make some monster gains

Bench 195X3 (tied PR)
last set 205X3 (new PR) grinded a bit on the last rep but got it

225X12 close stance high bar squat

 I will soon be getting 245X8-10.

I deadlifted 305# for 17 reps last week. Smallest belt I could find, used liquid chalk. I weight 175#.

Some epic squatting speed there, Reed, lol.

Managed to get a muscle-up for the first time. Next step, Crossfit! (jk)
