According to Louie Simmons he once worked with a begginer in powerlifting who benched well over 400lbs… but literally in his words Louies’ words he was a beginner.
Wowwie. Looks like everyones taken a compliment and taken it as though I’ve just shit on the bonnet of your car.

If someone took a shit on the bonnet of my car i would definitely take offense.
Was not saying that I just believe the term beginner is quite vague was all I was saying.
I’m not going to post in here again until I get a bench PR. My bench is S.H.I.T. But I am doing my best to fix it: eating a lot and watching the “So you think you can bench” series.
Recent PRs, Squat 1 x 170kg… Deadlift 1 x 227.5kg
CG Bench languishing around 1 x 105kg… Press rotting around 1 x 75kg. And my rep work isn’t much better haha.
190X8 over hand yates row
210X3 #3 floor rack lockout
45X7 ultra wide grip pull ups
140X8 hang snatch high pull
Are today’s.
225X6 narrow stance zercher squat,
natural glute ham raise with hands/arms on back bwX9,
zercher holds with walkout 275X30s
More personal records.

Haha thanks for that, but I think it’s more that most of us still consider ourselves beginners. It’s a very humbling experience going from being one of the strongest, best-built guys at a regular gym to one of the smallest and weakest at the powerlifting gym, where 400+ benches and 600+ squats and deadlifts are thrown about with regularity by guys who’ve had years of experience.
floor press 190X1
175X8 wide grip dead hang bent over row
105X5 wide grip bradford press
50X8 weighted neutral grip pull up
Is some more.
Squatted 135kgx2 with 1 left in the tank. I can taste 3 plates…
Yesterday squated 250lbs for 3x5deep reps!

Great depth.
Try sitting back a bit more. Otherwise great lift.
Keep it up.
Shoulder Press 60’s for 10
Did a bodyweight power clean & push press (190lbs).
Seems like your a hell of alot more stable when you suck in a good breath before pressing it.
I know overhead squats would probably do me some good as far as stability overhead, but i honestly fking hate overhead squats.
…
oh fk, lol i got out of my damn chair and those teardrop muscles started cramping, probably from doing a bunch of front squats and a bunch of push pressing.

Alot of people underestimate how hard it is to pushpress your BW , let alone military press it.
What’s the difference between your push press and military press? I hit nice deep/strict reps with 135 on military, then tried push presses and only got 155 for a triple. It seems like a great exercise so I’ll keep at it, I was shaking on the lockout and eccentric
155/165 I think is mine (any heavier and my push presses turn into jerks from old habit…)
255X1 sumo stance goodmorning off #10 pin
290X6 #1 hack lift off of pins (or behind back rack pull)
romanian deadlift 250X7
bwX13 natural glute ham raises, bwX3 strict natural glute hamraises
front squat hold with walkout 275X30s
Next week I will be posting some squat/bench personal records :).
Thought i was going to bench 225 because 215 felt fairly easy.
Definitely a mental block / technique thing happening here, cause 215 felt easy…and its not like 10 extra pounds would be that profound of a difference.
You’ll get it soon for sure. I thought 225 would mindfuck me, but my confidence was fine as I hit just under it for a few reps before going for it. If it continues to mess with you definitely try hitting smooth doubles/triples with slightly less weight.
