New PR's

8:12 on the mile run… started off too fast because last time I ran, it was 200s.

155X5 close grip press, 130X9 close grip bench press
185X8 bent over row,
20X6 weighted ultra wide grip pull ups
are all personal records today, 160X3 floor press is what I got the other day.

75lbs dumbbell floor presses for 2 sets of 12 reps new PR

275X5 sumo deadlift ( a personal record I guess haven’t done them before)
205X10 stiff legged deadlift
175X5 good morning (haven’t done these before)

245 for 8 reps on trap bar deads. Again grip failed before anything alse. Estimated 1 rm is 310.

220 for 8 on bench  and 240 for 7 on squats. I’m pretty happy with that. Hopefully it’ll keep going up.

You’re numbers are flying up man, keep up the good work

455x1 deadlift. Not thrilled with the form. But I got it.

Hey guys, I’m 16 years old and been training for almost 2 years now. I’ve been doing a strength cycle which i composed myself for the last 8 weeks and as a result my raw deadlift has improved to 180kg (396lbs)x 1, my squat to 155kg (341lbs) x 1, bench press to 100kg (220lbs) x 1, and power clean to 80kg (176lbs) 5 x 2. Recently changed to GVT as my lower back was starting to feel the effects of heavy lifting 5 times per week!

Paul, why are your bench and squat numbers so close to each other?

I came into lifting with surprisingly decent upper body strength, and utterly shitty lower body strength. That’s the best I can say. The lower body’s gaining all right, but well, they started so bad that even adding a lot of weight in the last few months, they’re still pretty bad.

to give you an idea, the first week, the wieght I used on squat reps was only 5 lbs over what I managed on bench reps. For my assistance (4x8) it’s still pretty close TBH. Some of that may also be that I’ve still got like 40-50 lbs of excess body weight I have to deal with so it’s that much more body weight to deal with on squats, but of course, on bench I’m not fighting against it.

High squat if I had to guess. Possibly butt off the bench. Some form issue. Rare is it that the squat and bench are in the same ball park.

you can check the videos in my profile, I have some semi-current ones in there, but really, if I wasn’t squatting to depth, my squat numbers would be HIGHER :stuck_out_tongue: Bench, I have funny feet position (short legs, tall bench) and that may impact it some.

squat:

bench:

they’re a couple months old but there ya go.

Managed to get 10 sets x 15 reps x 87.5 kg on the bench tonight, yay! Onwards and upwards

315x10 barbell hack squats

425

7:59 Mile run… broke 8!

190X5 good morning
195X5 zercher squat
225X6 stiff legged deadlift are some of last night’s personal records.

Finally benched 205x1. 195lbs was my 1RM for a long time. Last week was also a bench PR, 185x5, which used to by my old 3RM. Also weighing in around 205, which is a weight PR lol.

180X1 close grip bench press. I was quite happy with it
155X5 CG floor press
105X6 bradford press
35X4 ultra wide grip pull up (think double shoulder width if not more)
I actually managed to get a better close grip bench press than my previous regular grip (and it is actually 10-15 pound weaker than my regular bench press)
