New Free Audio Show

For those who care:
Here is a link to a NEW (free server-hosted) audio program of EXPERIMENTS VS. EXPERIENCE.

During a recent trip to Toronto, the question Fortress and I addressed is “How long should I wait before re-training a body part (or going back into the gym at all)”.

I put it free online to promote our new audio CD. (follow link) Bodybuilding and fitness media is usually so cheesy, Rob and I felt this would be a well-produced alternative.

I apologize for the sales pitch on the link but if you take us up on the audio CD offer by clearly marking
T-Forumite [unquote] on your check, we’ll cut the cost to ten bucks (through June).

Thanks for checking it out!

Hey, one more thing (sorry; don’t want to beat a dead horse)…

I see Shugs already mentioned that the new T-Nation “T-Jack Reports” would get a few free Experiments v. Experience CDs from Fortney and me.

You can get some practice writing a review (and hone your review/ writing skills - which might get you further goodies) by clicking on “Multimedia” here on T-mag at left or listening to:

I’m especially interested in feedback on what T-citizens would like to see on a volume 2. (e.g. we could squeeze-in more discussions if a streaming media/ computer format is acceptable or we could do it as a DVD video with my usual geeky graphs, etc.)

Thanks, Chris for agreeing to send out the half-dozen or so that you’ll get by mid-Feb.!

L-Train,

Does the audio CD also sound like the “interview” is being performed in a submarine or is this just a artifact of conversion for the internet?

Thanks.

double-L,

Just listened to the show and mark up another classic E vs. E. This one seemed of major benefit to the person just now getting excited about weight training and new to many of the concepts.

While I try to keep my self conscious of it, it helped me reflect on the fact that I need to slow my role a bit and give the CNS a little break. To bastardize the famous quote, "you can please all of your muscles some of the time, but you cant please some of your muscles all of the time, and you definately cant please all of your muscles all of the time. Well, maybe one muscle, but thats a different E vs. E.

I especially liked your “dont train more than two continuous days” and the reference to additional ways to reduce recooperation times (sauna, hot tub, massage, etc).
An E vs. E dealing with the “best” form of recovery aid might be interesting if possible.
I dont agree with Fortney’s suggestion to take a MONTH off completely, but I think that was for shock value. Right?!? I can understand a week…even two maybe…but a month?

Lastly, why are ya’ll so afraid to mention the “S-word”. I dont use (for now) but cant see why use of the word, on the contrary, more exposure might reduce the negative conotation associated with their use. You certainly don’t have to advocate their use, but a “steroid” shout out once in awhile wouldnt hurt. I concur that “supplement” and “drug aid” are more globally fitting to a broader scope of supplements, but I stick to my increased exposure arguement above.

I think your final comment to “wait a week between body parts” since you arent going to loose muscle is a good rule of thumb for large muscle groups, but referencing an earlier comment that a small group, e.g. biceps, might not take as long to recover you might cycle them every four days. It is probably a little more advanced than this E vs. E dealt with, but a 6 week program might involve some variation depending on the type of loading. Some weeks where direct arm work is performed twice a week and other weeks where it is not performed at all since it is already encompassed to a degree in the foundation exercises.

Is anyone still reading this? Jezuz, Im tired of writing it. Run on sentences take a lot out of you.

L-Train,
when were you in Toronto? did you give a seminar? did i miss out on something? and is something coming up that i don’t want to miss?

thanks
