Yo there Maschy McHottie. Put down the gin and tonic and come and say hi to your friends.

You people are insane!! I love when y’all go yammering on. Hilarious!
And Hallowed you are everything i’ve ever dreamed of! Seriously.
I’m posting this pic to demonstrate the reason why one wouldn’t want to put on too much muscle. These are my vintage 70’s high waisted jeans that i bought in some old people underwear shop on 5th ave in Sunset Park (Matty you know it). You can’t find this quality anywhere! And the shirt and belt my mother gave me, she used to rock these threads in the 80s. Christian Dior. I have another beautiful cream silk blouse that my mom gave me but I already grew out of. Meh!
Anyways, for the sake of brevity (ahem) I’m seeing the surgeon on Monday about the knee. In the meantime I’m going to do some BB style stuff - thanks to Nik ![]()
I won’t list the shit cuz its a lot. Giggity! But its all high reps and stuff. I even think i can do some wall sits to keep the quads working. 90 degrees is doable.
Also, sorry I’m not in the logs so much. The knee has been hard to deal with. Every other day I run into someone who had ACL surgery and they tell me that its 9 months until you feel “normal.” I cry inside every time. I just want to say “but you don’t understand!” and stomp around. GAH! My mood vacillates between being defiant to completely inconsolable.
Snapper I think of you every time. It means a lot to me to see how you have recovered and rehabbed. Its really inspirational! I hope I can find that grace too.
Go hard, y’alls!
bluebrasil, yeah that game was definitely well played. Like I said elsewhere, Man U played the first 15 mins like it was the last. The minute they lost momentum they were done and Barca played circles around them. But what’s funny is that those first 15 mins had me nervous! Man U looked good! But its hard to play a team like Barcelona. Their style is hard to match and they’ve got world class players up and down the roster.
Ugh! Its so crazy that ALL the worlds best players are Argentinian and yet our national team is such a sham! Typical.
awww, (hugs)
I can only imagine how you must feel ![]()
But you seem to have the right attitude so far in doing what you can do instead of stuffing your sadness with oreos…(OH EMM GEE, OREOS!!)
You look great btw!
oh hey wow i love those pants!!! i’m not typically a fan of the high waisted thing, but it really does seem to work. and i love the cut of the legs!!! if you outgrow them you can send them to me, k? good flares are so hard to find!
fingers crossed for you that things go well when you see the surgeon.
i understand about your having trouble checking logs and stuff… heartbreaking. you do what you need to do to keep yourself sane. hang in there. things WILL get better.
this is probably going to sound condescending… but often people say they learn a great deal about their bodies when they are out because of injury. time to be able to spend on the little things that get overlooked typically that make a significant difference for when you are back in the game again. i know i’d probably feel like hitting someone who said that to me when i was out with injury… but really hoping that you figure some doable stuff that you can figure a way to get enthusiastic about. bb stuff sounds awesome!!
ugh. wall sits. i think they are seriously bad ass. like planks. mental fortitude indeed.
OK, I have taken Monday as a day off from work so I can find a quiet spot, sit in the lotus position and concentrate on sending positive thoughts your way.
Good luck.
Maschy, don’t listen to people with downer stories. You are a superwoman and don’t you forget it.
Thanks for the update and the pics! Hang in there.

x2
A lot of them want to excuse their own slow recovery by making it some sort of ordeal.
I love those pants…it reminds of 1978 Threes company! RIP John Ritter…I know exactly where you are talking about I park my car in gunset park every morn , right by the Jackie Gleason bus depot on Fifth. Oh and this once a week posting in your log is complete BULLSHIT, just make shit up!
Why did you ahem the “brevity”? Is it because I love that word?!
As for the ACL surgery stories, I think that might differ from person to person. Everyone’s different and you don’t know what they consider normal, what they did that might have messed with the healing process, if they were active, etc.
You even make the 70s look cute <3

x 10!
I have some experience with downer stories and negative prognosis… Just cause people give you a time table that doesnt mean your recovery will be the same.
I had a bone infection in my left shin when I was 14 and after the surgery the doctors said I would probably never be able to run again. After my shoulder surgery they said it would be a year before I could lift like normal and I was in the gym less than 6 months later… There are always “exceptions” to the rules masch…
Be an Exception ![]()
those pants are awesome.
now you need them in chords.
and where are your pics of your pimp cane???
I want to ride the cyclone again, haven’t hit it up in a while not sure if
I can get down with a new coney island - is it like the 'new ’ times square?
I remember once when I blew out my ankle at the same time I fucked up my rotator cuff. I still went to the gym even though all I could do was abs and forearms. Don’t get down, get even.
Can you swim? That might be a good thing for you to do, especially now that it’s summer.
Oh and you rock those jeans. Fabulous, darling.
Is that your back tattoo??? Looks awesome!!
Hope you feel better soon
Injuries suck the big bag ![]()
Your pics are great! Thanks for sharing ![]()
I feel you! I totally went AWOL when I hurt my knee. I had to wait 4 months before I could do the surgery because I had to finish my dissertation. It made me realize how much I depended on lifting for sanity. You should look into Mike Robertson’s bullet proof knees and back series. It is totally worth the investment. He’s all about rehabbing and preventing future injury.
Yeah Maschy, that avatar is sexy as all get out.
Maschy, your back gives me a bon…uh, feelings.
Hey out of curiosity, is your bum knee the same leg that you had the hamstring problems last year? I know you injured the knee from blunt force, but I’m just curiosa.
And yea, sick ass back!!
