sorry to hear that your coach is being a big domineering… i guess he is really into the sport, but it isn’t fair to expect everyone else to prioritize it the way he does. you have been honest with him about soccer being your thing. i remember that i wasn’t even sure if you would continue with the Oly Lifting at all once soccer started up. your knee sticking out with the brace reminded me of when i had to have my legs up in the wheelchair. people would keep running into them :-/

I think you can do both–soccer and oly–because you have been doing both. Shit–you’ve been playing soccer forever. Your body is so acclimated to it that it’s probably about as taxing as taking a dump. That’s how I feel about the running.

I’m sorry to hear about the knee and I fully sympathise with the two steps forward, three steps back thing because that’s what I’ve been going through. In my case, it’s just age and abuse, but it must be doubly frustrating for you because the injury was someone else’s fault!
I’m reminded of my gymnastics coach who does cheerleading, and broke her arm after a girl dropped her. Sometimes shit just happens and you have to make the best of it.
