Never Walk Alone

Well, Hells Bells Masch. Sorry to hear about the injury and the 6 weeks off. Here’s hoping it goes by super fast. That pic up there is GORGEOUS. You’re a stunner. Hang in! Big hugs your way.

I am so sorry to hear about the knee injury. That seriously sucks.

However.

Pink cane! That must make you smile; it made me smile.

And, you still have two good arms and one good leg and six weeks to kill. When you get over the shock of going down in such a traumatic way, there is so much training you can still get done. We could do a pull-up challenge. Any seated upper body machine. Seated DB work (nomable delts???).

There are no free passes in the compound unless you are close to death.

If you don’t get injured your not trying hard enough??

But seriously, sorry your dealing with this right as you were starting to get in the groove of everything.

Big Big (((hugs)))

.

in honor of fleet week… heres a picture I took of an old sign that was hanging in a pub in Seattle

lol

<lurking in Mashy’s thread…hunting for pics of our hot Argentinian>

love the juicy legs and ass!!
I’d take it even with the brace. You’d have an excuse to put your feet up with a drink while i ran circles around you trying to cook dinner

Hey Everyone!! Thanks for stopping into my sad little log of non-training. Seriously, I feel like this entire log has been all about moving 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. Thanks for sticking it out with me! (even if I have to bribe you with gratuitous T&A, mostly A, pics)

Hey Austin! Nice avi  And thanks! I’m an eternal optimist. But I won’t lie, this injury has been testing my mental fortitude. I just remind myself that nobody like a wet blanket, and that keeps me in check.

Ronaldo - Gracias hermoso! And yes, that is a dress! I actually found it about 10 years ago in a flea market in Forte Greene. Are you ready for Saturday? Should be an exciting match. May the best team win! (and win fairly this time)

LOL, Matty! “I got a paper cut - look at my tits!” Dunzo.

Greg, thanks doll! And I hope so on the 6 weeks. My big fear is that once I go see the surgeon in a week he’s going to tell me something different. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Ink, you have a point and I’m sure in the “old country” they probably would’ve wrapped my knee in bacon. “Oh noez, my leg brace is gone! It was delicious!”

Git! Lies! I’ve never faked a thing in my life (except maybe a tan), don’t listen to him Greg - i’m 100% pure, Argentinian…um…stuff. So yeah.

Joe, thanks! I’m actually surprised to hear how many people have torn their MCL, except everyone I speak with had to have surgery. So I’m a little nervous that I’m going to have to have it too. I’m crossing my fingers that having strong muscles surrounding my knees somehow works towards my benefit. But you’ve lived through this and your a PR machine, so I have hope

LOL! ANDY! but my snatch, it was getting so good…FML. Thanks though.

My cupcake of love, actually i think its the other way around - its a compliment for me that people think you look like a soccer player. At least I know I’m doing something right!

Kev - I love Beck! Well, I opted for the cane over the crutches b/c the crutches just seemed like it would be too much of a hassle on the subway. Of course it totally is, but the main problem is not the cane, but the fact that my brace makes my leg stick out all erect when I sit down. So of course NYers being the kind-hearted individuals they are cough, offer me their seat on the train. But then when I sit down, my little leg is poking out like a baby boner and peeps keep hitting it! Its just so annoying. And if i say, “no thanks, i’m going to stand” the person who offered me their seat looks all butt hurt and they keep asking “are you sure? are you sure?”, like they’ve done something wrong. So awkies!

Nadia, haha! I’m glad yo got my joke - the universe is a fickle bitch. She wants me to slow down, she takes out my knee. Seriously? I got the message loud and clear - she could’ve just given me shingles.

LOL! Spook. You’re silly.

Deb, HAHA! You’re also silly and OBSESSED!

Hey 2busy! Thank you  I’m so pimp I trick out myself! (not even sure what that means frankly)

Puff - thanks mama! Here’s hoping it goes by super fast too chin chin with the gin!

Kimba!! YAY! Just you stopping in makes me smile! And you’re right! I do have two arms and a core - so I’ll def be getting back into some sort of training soon. I’m already getting the itch, actually. AND, I have you know, I’ve been very good with my food. Without the training I have no excuses! I always think, WWKD (what would kimba do)

MiM - thanks mama! I feel the love!

Greg - HAHAHA! OMG, that sign is beyond perfect. I’m going to drown my sorrows in a sea of sailors tonight, actually. Wish me luck!

Edgy! I will return lurk in a few. I miss my Viking!

And, uh, Frenchie, after seeing your laundry pic, you can run circles around me any day!!

No training. (Oh, really?)

The leg is feeling better though, so that’s good. I try to ever-so-gently stretch it out at night when I take off the brace - i’m terrified its going to lock up on me. My ROM blows, but at least I’m managing the pain by not doing anything stupid. I did get a little cocky the other day though and started walking around a bit more freely with the brace off, only to have the knee give out and send me crashing to the floor. My neighbors below must hate me!

Anyways, I’ve been getting a bit restless and wanting to do some exercise, but I promised myself I would take the week off completely - to get acclimated to the brace and all. I might do a mat-based pilates class on Sunday to ease back into things. With the brace on the leg feels fine, but I don’t want to put too much pressure on the leg just yet.

I had to inform my Oly coach about the injury and his reaction was a bit frustrating. Of course he felt bad for me, but his first response was to tell me that I shouldn’t be playing soccer anymore, and then he acted all disappointed in me, stating that I could make Nationals in 3 years, but not if I keep playing soccer. He even said, you’re “too old to play soccer, and with this injury, forget it.” I was so annoyed. I just told him flat out, “Please, don’t tell me not to play soccer anymore.” Its like he’s trying to make me his project or something! And I never expressed any interest in going to nationals. I just don’t get him. I mean, I already have a domineering father, I don’t need a domineering father figure. Anyways, he’s having BBQ this sunday and when I told him I didn’t think I could make it, he basically gave me no option but to go - which is fine, I like BBQs. But of course I have to bring potato salad…for 40 people…A set of balls, i need to grow them.

Alright kiddos! This one I dedicate to all of you lovely people - Happy Friday everyone!! And Happy Memorial Day!!

Since I have no training to discuss, I thought I’d have a “Meet your Mascherano” moment.

So here I am playing soccer in high school

Senior year I was the captain (naturally) - I thought I was the fucking shiznit with my head band.

This is a pic of my grand-pops BEFORE he emigrated to Argentina.

My mom’s side is Armenian, but my grand father is from Aleppo Syria. My grandfather is the one with the Lyle Lovett hairdo! And aside from his hairstyle, I also inherited his irrational optimism and his socialist tendencies. He was an interesting man, to say the least.

And finally, just for laffs - here is wee Maschy (and my bro!)

I was throwing up the duck-face before the duck-face could even be thrown. Pimp in training!

I was also obsessed with dinosaurs and was going through a bit of a klepto stage. I’ve also never grown out of my Picasso face, but did grow out of my blonde, straight locks. being a model was just never in the cards for me. HAH!

Please masch dont grow balls, then I would have to turn ghey! As far as training goes, I suggest you make shit up like one arm DB kickback snatch curls, and see how many people say “I love those” lol. You were and are a cute kid I would have a crush on you when I was that age, but I was fat and dirty :frowning:

Masch, That headband is awesome! Totally BA

I’m with Matty… if you grew balls then the three of us would be stuck in a homo erotic twilight love triangle thing… and i dont think that would be a good look for me.

Keep up the updates and pics.

Friggin’ wall of text. How do you keep it all straight to be able to type all that? You must be like some sort of PhD or sumthing.

It’s a total crush-fest in here for the gimp <== Can we say that? Is cripple better? Dunno.

Do some push-ups and chin ups just to keep your head in the game. And take an action shot. Maybe in a sassy outfit. Just sayin’.

Ummm…you’ll be wearing boots, right?

I would have been the guy in the bleachers watching you play. But I had a total lack of “game” then. Forever alone.

You should trade those in for distributism.

And, sorry about the knee Masch.

-That dress makes the picture even sexier! And yes I’m totally ready for this European Clasico. I just hope both teams are fair and as you said, may the best wins. I also hope Ronaldo leaves Madrid and goes back to England this summer. He went from winning everything in the book to basically winning nothing.

-The story about your oly coach is just like mine. When I started I was still playing a lot of soccer and then my coach started getting sneaky and saying how if I wanted to compete then soccer was counter-active to getting as strong as possible. I made the decision to stop playing footy but would still go sprinting and running once in a while, once he found out about that, he pretty much told me I was crazy and should never sprint or run in fear of injury. At that point I said F this and started doing my own thing at the gym. It Seems like Oly coaches are very similar in this regard or at least the ones here in NYm, then again your coach and my coach know each-other(I remember your coach from the few competitions at LBH) so that might explain the similar philosophy.

If you don’t give your knee rest for the few weeks, then it won’t heal and will only give you periodic problems for LIFE. Be careful love, no cockiness allowed.

That’s how all older men treat women who train. I go through that crap all the time at the gym. Ignore 'em or confront 'em.
How cute that you’re bringing potato salad lol

Wee lil Maschy is so cute. As is the teenage and adult Maschy =D

I have torn both acl’s, the left MCL(twice), and the right menicus. I only have to have surgery on the MCL once. Once you get back to your lifting activities warming up will be your friend. I mean warm up like it’s a religion.
