I first want to say that I’m sorry I can’t be in the logs too much right now - I’m this close to landing a position that will enable me to keep a stay-at-home husband (giggity!). So i’m trying to stay focused on work and training.

Good luck with the job! In 5th grade I was voted boy most likely to make a perfect stay at home husband by my class.
Masch: I have a good sense of pace. You’ll develop it over time. Use your stop watch. If you have to, figure out and write your desired split times for each lap in sharpie on your forearm near your watch. I would run my first lap at least 5 seconds slower than my goal pace. You can make that time up kicking to the finish easily.
90 second quarters=6 min mile pace
1:45 quarters=7 min mile pace
You can run better than a 7:30 min mile outside on a track. Pace youself for that.
1st lap 1:55
2nd lap 1:50 (split time of 3:45)
3rd lap 1:55 (split time of 5:35-5:40) (this lap is always the toughest–run strong here hold your second lap pace if you can and you will be ahead of goal!)
4th lap kick! everything you have.
Run the track like you drive: I tell myself to relax through the curves and then accelerate down the straight aways. It helps me.
sounds like your life is pretty hectic. glad to hear you have been getting enjoyment from your training. congrats on your back squat! i’m very bad with procrastinating my thesis… kudos to you for having your priorities in order.
Lol! Greg, who knows on the dips. Anytime something feels easy to me I just assume I’m doing it wrong. But whatevs! And thanks! Being a hot suga’ momma sounds like a pretty good aspiration to me.
Kalle! And just think of all the free time you’ll have to train for your comps, and play with your (our?) dogs and pursue all your other interests! I won’t ask for much in return - hell, i’ll even do the dishes. lol!
Thanks cupcake! Yeah, the tabata killer! At then end I was doing like 6 reps per 20 secs. lol! I will continue to keep killing ass indeed!
Nadia, omg - thank you sooooo much! That’s some great advice!! I can’t wait to implement it. Now I just have to dig up my stopwatch. 90 sec per quarter will probably make me vomit. HAH! Of course, that’s what I’ll shoot for! Relax through the curves, accelerate through the straightways. AWESOME!
KMC - thanks! You and your little man are too cute as it is, your wife is a lucky lady! Btw, a new reality show “the husbands of Mascherano”…hmm…
Brutiful! HI! I love you back!!
Joe - lol! I like your view on running the mile too. Simple and straightforward.
Lex! Hi. I’m coming to your log later and will fill it with all my musings. Lucky you! HAH! Life IS hectic. But its good. I’m gratful to be working and doing what I love, but I’ve been at the office since 7am this morning. Long days. And yeah, my dissertation (what you call thesis) has also been put on hold for the last few months. I need to get it done so I can get outta school once and for all!! plus i want people to call me Dr. Mascherano. I will insist on it.
NOTE: The bach squat was really 2x165, not 3x165. I thought I editted that last night. I’m going to go edit it now.

Nice shorts and mile time! And I bet your time will be faster outside. Treadmills are life sucking forces. [/quote]
This x 2
Treadmill = Lifesucker.
And Whoo-hoo! to the Daisy Dukes!
Great legs! “I like my women a little on the trashy side.” LOL!
Good luck with the new job! Keepin’ my fingers, and my legs crossed for ya.

Great time on the mile, Masch! I agree with Puff on you’ll be faster outside.
I have learned to accept treadmills as a necessary evil in life.

you sure you’d want to adopt these?
Nope I do the dishes, I’ve found its good for hand recovery from heavy grip training

is it weird that I now have the desire to go running? and I hate running…
