On a serious note I do get bunching of the fabric around the front on some pants. I just put those aside for now, but those are dress pants. You can def rock the shorty shorts as is. Adding a little muscle and strength to our frames is good stuff.

Thanks for the love on the poom poom shorts. Frankly, I’m certain that I’ll continue to wear these shorts and/or similar because I’m trashy like that. Plus it gets balls hot here in NYC in the summertime and I don’t have air conditioning. And I’m sure Matty will attest, but chicks over here wear all sorts of crazy getups - hipsters and hoochie mama’s alike - basically no one’s wearing clothing in these parts unless your god forsakes the showing of skin.
And its funny Veg, I could never wear those volley ball shorts to workout, and yet you wouldn’t wear them out of the gym. You’re the yin to my yang. ![]()
Ronaldo - I won’t even argue with you. As much as I love Barca, I hate shitty sportsmanship. Always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. But what can you say? You know how it goes. The refs are prone to human error, the players are divas and the coaches are insufferable pricks. It wasn’t a nice win, that’s for sure.
And Ink, ITS ON! I’m going to try to hit the track sometime in the next week or so to test my time. Hopefully you’re right Nadia! Thing is, I don’t think I know how to pace myself all on my own! (forever alone?) Does anyone have any tips on how to pace yourself for a run? I’m definitely one of those people that burns out at the start.
Anywho…
I first want to say that I’m sorry I can’t be in the logs too much right now - I’m this close to landing a position that will enable me to keep a stay-at-home husband (giggity!). So i’m trying to stay focused on work and training.
But despite my intermittant logging, I have been training!
Thursday I did one of my concurrent training sessions. Nothing too exciting to report except that this time instead of the mock-prowler I did front squat tabata with 65lbs BB. Total pukitude. I am also sad to report that my mile time went down (or up?) from 7:37 last week to 7:55. I blame hormones.
After this I went on to do the PDP (pullup, dip, puship pyramid) and that went better than last time - but I still wasn’t able to complete it. I’m obsessed with this now and its become part of my new cycle in my full body workout instead of the usual 10 sets of pullups. I WILL master this mother fucker, even if it takes a year.
That said, I started my “deload” on Friday and did no other training this weekend aside from knock the ball around in the park.
No Oly, no soccer all last week. Blows donkey balls, in the words of Kimba.
Monday , yesterday, I did another am/pm sesh. I actually really like breaking the sessions apart like this, partly because I teach in the evenings and this PM sesh gives me something to do that doesn’t involve staring at my computer like Joe vs. the Volcano.
AM sesh:
Back squat - 5x85, 105 3x125, 145, 155 2x165 < the 165 is a 10lb PR from the previous week (wtf?). It wasn’t pretty, but i got it up. I have it on vid - gotta push my elbows forward on my way up! That will help the GMing sitch. I was happy with the depth though, so that was good.
Front squat - 8x95, 105 < over these, moved on
Snatch pulls - 4x65, 85, 95 < practicing with all the feedback given in the O thread, did my mobility and thoratic whatevers like a good girl
Some random clean and jerks for shits and giggles
RDLs - 12x95, 105, 2x12x125 < used straps for 105+
BB Rows - 5x85, 8x95, 105, 105

Finally got through the whole thing and pretty much hated life the entire time. Awesome! When I get to levels 8 and 10 I’m basically just repping singles and doubles, so hopefully that will improve over time. I’m pretty good at dipping tho! I think the mad pumpz that this gives you is brotardidly addictive!
Anyways, today I took the night off from training. I can’t tell i’m just uber-DOMsy or getting sick, but I can’t afford to get ill! So I’m going to hit the hay early and try to get more than 6 hours of sleep for a change.
This week, O lifting is my top priority. Gotta get back under a bar that I can throw on the floor damnit!
