Today was concurrent training and greg’s evil pyramid scheme (seriously, what is the name of this?). First part went good, second part not so much.
Concurrent Training: Minimal rest between sets and exercises.
KB Swings - 3x15x35
Jump rope - 5 mins < should have done 7 mins but peeps were cramping my style
Cable row (DD handle) - 12x90, 15x75, 15x70
1 min mile (slight incline) - 7:37 < 18 secs faster than last! Yeah buddy! This was entirely puke worthy and at the last minute I was praying! It was a big push. What’s 7 mins going to feel like? UGH!
Stretchers - 15x50, 2x15x60
4 min prowler push tabata style < more puke sensation.
Serious glute pump here! Took me about 40 mins in total. Killer!
And then I went on to the pyramid scheme. For those of you who’ve never heard of this, basically you start by doing 2 pullups, 2 dips and 5 pushups and then next round you do 4 pullups, 4 dips, and 10 pushups and on and on up to 10. And then, you go back down from 10 to 2! Yay! Ahh…good times. I believe it comes down to 60 pullups (Nadia, you might like this!) which is awesome!
Anyways, I actually really liked it and I’m definitely going to do it again. But you need to be mentally prepared for this thing, cuz its killer. I only got through half the pullups on level 8 going up before I was dunzo. lol!
It was kinda self sabotage - I made eye contact with a gym buddy and he was itching to tell me some chisme. Turned out to be a good story about how he got caught cheating - escandalo! But I knew that the minute I started talking to him it was over. Grrrr…gotta stay focused.
Anyways, I’m thinking of switching out my normal 10 sets of pullups for the pyramid scheme on the next cycle. I like a challenge ![]()
As for the rest, tomorrow is an off day and We got a game on Sunday - its just a friendly with a new team that wants join the league. I’m actually really looking forward to it! These games are more relaxed and groovy. You can try out your Cristiano Ronaldo moves and get fancy without worrying about winning or losing.

El entrenamiento!!
Quick recap on Sunday’s friendly. First of all, it was completely unorganized and I was insanely cranky about this. The other team couldn’t even field an entire squad and we had to mix up the two teams in order to play a proper match. I was all grumbly and crabby, and whinging about how I had to travel to bumblefuck Graveshead and “I didn’t eat 3k calories last night, to play in this silly game…” blah, blah, blah, and I even exchanged a few words with one of the girls from the other team (who was on my team) because I told her to pass me the ball instead of, you know, losing it all on her own. Bad Maschy!
One of the girls on my team even joked with another team mate that, “Its always nice to see happy people get bitchy, makes them more human, you know?” And then I laughed and got over myself and just fucking blew up the field with my mach-5 speed and it ended up being a fun day of sport. I’m fickle like that ![]()
