As for collarbones, I never had much trouble with mine but I think my pecs protect them (rather than my delts which are nothing to write home about).

Deb, the crew neck is a great idea! Thanks for that. As for catching on the delts, well, I’m not sure tbh, but my coach told me that I need to learn to catch with my shoulders more hunched up, if that makes sense. When I catch now, my shoulders are a back, my elbows are lower, and I’m exposing my clavicle more. If I do the hunching bit, my elbows come together more and are higher and my clavicle is a bit more protected by my raised delts. And we need to stop pussying out!

Hiya Lex! Yeah, who knows, the squat jerking could def grow on me. I think my coach measures my strength by the size of my legs and that’s why he thought I’d like it. But its also a lot more unstable in the squat jerk position. We shall see!

Veg, the callous situation pretty much blows because it completely fucks with grip. Mine is on my palm between my index and middle finger. Ok, training updates to follow:

I know I’ve been bad at logging - but I just want to say that part of this is because when I get online I like to check out what you all are up to! and then I get all mono-fixated in one log…oops.

Anyways, after Mondays training my body was quite DOMsy in the good AND bad way - mostly my shoulders, which were both achey on the outside, upper bicep. Weird spot to be achey!

At any rate, Tuesday was conditioning (no soccer practice). Nothing exciting to note there - just the usual sprints and plyo stuff.

Weds I double dipped and did a quick AM sesh and then Oly in the evening. The am training was basically b/c i wanted to try my new and improved Pendlays (thanks to Nik and Veg!).

RDLs - 8x95, 105, 115, 125 < I used straps for the latter two sets
Pendlays - 4x8x95
GHRs - 15xBW, 2x15x10

In the evening, the gym was packed with the entire Oly crew, which is nice for socializing but not for lifting - limited space, chatty lifters, hard to get focused. But I wasn’t taking anything too seriously, so it was all in good fun. I’m just excited that I get to use the big boy bumper plates and now I can throw the bar away with ease. I only worked on snatching that day and worked up to 35k (got some, missed some). Its crazy how much easier it is for me to land a snatch from a hang than from the floor.

Also, my coach literally forced me to squat. I was all, “nah, its ok, i’ll pass today” and he basically pushed me under the rack and said do 8 reps. In the end I got a rep PR for 8x60k (130ish) which is cool. I’m also pretty excited by the fact that I’m ATGing quite well! And on the last rep I was stuck in the hole but managed to get out with a super serious effort. It was pretty rad. And I won’t lie, I almost let one rip on my coach who was standing behind me spotting me. HAHAH! That would of been BEYOND hilarious. Thank god I didn’t.

Last night I ended up taking the day off - I was supposed to do my concurrent training but I scraped it b/c a) I was sore b) my landlord asked me to mind his son for a few hours in the evening while he went out. My land lord is a typical crazy landlord (whom I adore!) and his son is an 18 year old with severe autism. I love his son, he’s such a character and quite a pleasure to be around. When I got there Julian, the son, was already asleep, but he woke up to keep me company while we watch the housewives of NY. He also has a compulsion to check the lock on the front door, which I greatly appreciate! Its fascinating to interact with him b/c he doesnt talk, he only makes noises like “bloop, bleep, woooo,” but he says it all with his intonation.

Anywho…

Tonight I’ve got big things in store. Firstly my concurrent training that I didn’t do last night and then I’m going to try my hand at sexy Greg’s pushup/pullup/dip pyramid. I’ve never dipped in my entire life, so this should be interesting…

Aww! Thanks Matty blush Thing is, he’s a totally chill person, so its fun to hang out with him. Plus i think we both amuse each other with our little eccentricities. I imagine hanging out with Julian is alot like being married - me yammering away about how Sonia from the NY housewives is totally crazy and my husband making noises in agreement while he fantasizes about what life would be if he were married to his office crush. What I’m trying to say is that it feels like Julian is locked up in his little world, but he’s surprisingly in tune with what’s going on around him. In fact, he had a BIG LOL when a picture of Donald Trump came on the telly! He knows what’s up.

I missed RHNY, yesterday, I watch em all, Bravo usually replays the shit out of em so Ill catch up tonite!
