as for eating and stuff on the weekends… I don’t do those ‘planned cheat days/meals’ anymore (also, full cheat days just give me a jiggly butt). Because we are all generally social people, and shit will come up on the weekends often enough, we will slip up and we should accept this. That’s why I really liked Thib’s livespill on his new view of cheat meals. Basically, stick to your ‘healthy’ eating as much as you can, and just accept that you’ll screw up because you go out to dinner with friends or whatever. I hesitate to even say ‘screw up’, because cmon we aren’t going for a bodybuilding contest here. We are humans and should enjoy some good ass fucking food.
as for alcohol… I’m still trying to find a balance with that one. ![]()

Anyways, I wanted to drop by real quick to post tonights Oly stuff. For a change, I felt really great with my lifts and was getting a lot of positive feedback from my coach. I still suck, but at least today I sucked a bit less.
First off, I re-ripped a callus, which sucked. Second, my collarbone keeps getting banged up on the cleans and it hurts. Does this happen to anyone else? My poor little collarbone! I need delts!
Training:
Hang snatch - 3x15, 2x20
Snatch - 3x30, 2x25 (1M), 3x35 (2M), 1x35
The snatches felt good, the ones I landed were deep - but they didnt feel “easy” at all. Not quite there!
Anyways, I was raring to keep going at 35k, but then something strange happened with the girl I often lift with - she started crying and ran off. I took a break and went looking for her with coach Joe and finally ran into her on her way out - I think Coach upset her. He can be like that.
Messed with my flow, moved on to:
Cleans - 3x25, 1x42.5, 1x45 (M)
Hang cleans - 1x42.5, 1x45 < this is easier than pulling from the ground. Grr…
C&Js - 3x35, 2x32.5, 3x40, 2x40 (1M)
push press - 3x40, 2x45
squat jerk - 2x30, 1x30, 2x30 < my coach wanted me to try these, thought maybe I might like them. They’re ok. I’m still inclined to want to split.
Front squat - 5x40, 5x50, 3x60, 1x65 < 65 is a PR (143lb), but i would’ve liked it if i did a double or triple and I’m pissed because I should’ve just done it instead of pussying out. LAME!
back squat - 8x50, 8x50 < this second set were “1/2 squats” lol! not sure what they’re for but my coach was having fun with me, he even put pressure on the bar for a few reps. Fun!
And that was that!

Nice lifting and front squat PR. We can be our own worst enemies, happens to the best of us, quite a few times I’ve pussied out when I doubted myself when I should have just went right after a certain weight or extra rep. When that happens I look at it as an easy PR for the week after, you’ll get that double or triple soon enough.
And the boozing season is about to start so I am worried about my belly as well and wallet for that matter. Lol at you looking pregnant, you look great.

I keep getting my skin scraped on the bar catching cleans too. I’ve had to change to a small crew neck collared shirt a couple of times. Should you catch the bar more on your delts? I’ve heard conflicting advice on that.
I know exactly what you mean about pussying out >:( I do that every fricking day grrrr. I have no advice other than try and remember how much that sucks next time but I still do it so I can’t say that works either.

You’re right about the delts kinda helping to protect your collarbone. I don’t use an oly grip (pussy, I know) and I still end up with bar makings on my collarbone and sometimes little red abrasions on my delts too. FML.
