Breeee! Hi chiquita. Actually I NEVER train with a partner because I’m a terrible training partner! But working out with OMO was sooo easy and fun! Probs because she did all the work and i just giggled and said, “this is hard”. Whatever!
Thanks Kimba! I am pretty upbeat actually! I mean, at this stage in the game, dealing with injury in some capacity is pretty much on par. lol! So what’s the use getting all down and out. I figure its best just to recoup and then focus on something else. Like life, training has its ups and downs, no?

Didn’t end up training today. After soccer and OMO I figured I’d take the day off. But the rest of the week is fully organized with practice, shoulder work, full body fun-times including sqwatz and deadlift variations and…first game of the season! Woot woot!!

^ LOL!!! That was a special moment in time. I will never look like that again. Its like looking at you at 19! Well, those days are gone. I believe the weighted situps thickened me right up! In fact, I’ve actually stopped training abs directly and only do 1 day of pilates class - you know, to to keep things ‘toned’. And I will say, I do feel the difference and my squats are much weaker for it. A strong core is so important! Oh well.

Thanks Alexus! And its ok. I realize the reality is that I’m getting older and my muscles are getting all hard and tight, so i need to be proactive about that - stretching them out and stuff. Plus as we get older we don’t heal up as quick. Ahh, youth…shakes fist at sky
Training has been sketchy. I blame it on coming off of the deload and having my bum shoulder. I need to do something! I’m starting to atrophy.
Today i did legs - got in some front and back squats. On the front squats didn’t hit my target of 5x130 and only did 4 reps. Bitches were hard. I blame my weak ass core. Maybe i’ll do some high reps at a lower weight, see if we can tighten that up.
Oh, Maschy. Is your shoulder really hurt? Makes me wanna come fix you up.
Don’t sweat the training set-backs, if you’re injured take the time you need to rehab and get better.
So, how’s soccer season going?

Anywho. This sunday we play THE hardest team in the leauge and we only have 13 girls coming, so this probably means a full 90. Woo hoo! Imma smoke that shit. I pray to god that my hammie holds up. I feel like its 100%, so i believe i’ll be fine. Whatever! Balls to the walls! I just have to make sure I warm up properly AND cool down. Game is early too. Gonna get my carb-load on the night before ![]()
Other than that, i feel like my upper body is atrophying, so i’m going to have to do some sort of upper body training. Tomorrow will be the rest of the legs I skipped tonight (got into a convo, lost my groove), shoulder rehab and mobility, and then this thing that is called, and i quote, concurrent training.
Goes like this:
3 x 5 pullups
5 mins jumprope
3x8-10 DB bench press
7 mins running (i’m excited to see how much i can clock!)
3 x 12 pushups
5 mins bike
We shall see…

“Concurrent training” sounds fun in an owie kinda way. Sorry about that shoulder sprain. Sucks. But, fully fixable with time, which means time is on your side.
90 minutes of soccer is an impressive feat of conditioning! I just wish you didn’t have to think about that hammie at all.
I often lament the limitations my body places on my ability to train. If only I could run as much as I wanted…but, maybe it’s a good thing that our desire and our will are our strongest attributes. I guess I really wouldn’t want it the other way around.
