Anyways, until then I have lower body work and soccer to keep me busy - so i’m not too torn up about it. But I am sad that I’ll have yet another setback in a sport that is already incredibly challenging for me. Such is life.

Thank you ALL for the tons of feedback re: the shoulder!! Its because of you guys that I believe I’ve made (in part via terror) the smart and well-informed decision to work on my shoulder strength before I go dominating the sport of Olympic lifting :wink:

And just another BIG thank you to Germanone who has been helping me behind the scenes to put together a sound and well balanced training schedule. Thank you!!

sorry to hear that you are taking some time from O lifting - but i’m not surprised with everything you got going on with soccer and conditioning and school etc. i’ve been wanting to learn bjj for ages… but have reluctantly decided to hold off since i have to be careful not to overtrain and i’m pretty much only doing the oly stuff and school.

i’m sure you will indeed dominate O lifting when the time is right for you to get stuck into it.

It’s a difficult balance to find the time to do everything that we need to do, want to do, and love to do. I know you’re still going to be training hard and mixing it up. It’s who you are. Keep after it hooker. And post when you can.

Today I worked out with OMO!!! She’s in town visiting with friends and I was lucky enough to get the chance to train with her. It was SO much fun! We trained, and gabbed, and gossiped wink, wink She’s a total riot! and beautiful too boot (her pics don’t do her any justice!). Not to mention the fact that she’s is all cut up and looking diesel. I looked like a bloated, hot mess next to her! lol!

I basically tagged along on her lower body workout, and I have to say, we really don’t give these FA girls the credit they deserve - that workout kicked my ass! I was bitching and whineing the entire time, I basically i sat around catching my breath while OMO did all the plate switching and stuff. She’s the best workout partner ever! :slight_smile:

Anyways, for those of you interested here’s what we did (Actually, OMO did a bit more weight than i did on some of these) (reps/weight):

Leg extenstion - 15/50, 12/60, 10/70, 8/60

BB squats - 15/95, 12/105, 10/115 < OMO has great form btw.

Sissy squats - 15/50, 12/55, 10/65

Lying Ham curls - 15/50, 15/60, 10/60 & 5/50 < these killed me!

Leg press - 15/180, 12/200, 10/220, 8/230 < these also killed me!

Speed skaters - 3x20xBW

Natural GHRs - 3x10xBW < I got to hold OMO’s ankles while she GHR’d, getting the loveliest viewas she went up and down. Sigh. You jelly?

Walking lunges - 20/25 Dbs, 2x 20/25

And now my fucking quads are killing me. Thanks OMO! On the plus side, I also realized that my hammies are so weak! I need to get on that once soccer is over.


As for the rest of my training. I’m coming off my deload, but have been getting in some lower body (worked up to 5x130 on the front squat) and shoulder rehab. Also took a spin class mid-week (bite me). And I had my soccer tourney yesterday. We came in second. The tourney was coed, so we got to play with some players from our brother team. They’re all so cute (I was this close to ravaging one of them. Christian, a sweet, 25 yr old med student from Missouri)! Anyways, it was like being in high school - every conversation inevitably ended up about sex. We couldn’t stop laughing even while we were playing. Good times!

Other than that, I went to the doctor this Friday and as it turns out I only have a shoulder sprain. Just as I suspected. It turns out my problem isn’t so much my shoulder strength, but my shoulder flexibility. I’m going to work on that and I have already found that the pole to my beach umbrella makes the perfect broomstick for stretching, OHsquatting, etc. Of course it would!

Anywho, this week I’m back into some semblance of ‘regular’ training - minus the Oly of course. Tomorrow I’m supposed to do a full body workout but my legs are like jelly (thanks bitch! haha!), so we’ll see. But other than that they’ll be more lower, soccer, rehab, you know, the usual.

My shoulder flexibility sucks donkey dick, but what really helps is shoulder dislocates with a broomstick and even bands do the trick, and to me they feel awesome…always lurked in your log, your awesome as usual.
