I’m sorry I haven’t been around too much. Life has been keeping me busy, that’s for sure.
I’m still trying to lose the weight that I put on over the holidays. So i’m trying to hit it hard in the gym and eat sensibly. I have a wedding on Sunday for one of my BFFs and I’m in the wedding party, so that’s been motivating me. lol! Other than that, life continues as normal.
In Oly news:
Lifts are progressing well!
Snatch is getting more fluid and I am now predominantly pulling off the floor. I still catch mostly in the power position, but every once in a while a full snatch sneaks in. Lol! I still find catching full a bit scary, and its hard for me to wrap my head around “dropping under the bar”. But it makes so much sense, you can only get the bar so high, so you have to ‘drop under it’ - d’uh. But still…Anyways, I did a bunch of triples working up to 25kg, and then 1x27.5 and then I failed at 30 and then again at 27.5. Meh.
Also, coaches taught me more of the C&J and I had some serious beginners luck! It was so much fun and everyone was pleased. Basically we worked up to doing a clean and push press (to throw). Lol! its so funny b/c I’m always like “so wait, this is called a what?” And believe it or not, every part of the entire lift has a name. Anyways, its cool b/c I was pulling off the floor, which is also something I find quite hard. I worked up to 1x41 but had to put the kibosh after doing 3 singles at 41kg.
For me, once the lift goes to shit, it’s gone. When I failed at 41 on the clean and pp, the coach made me go down to 30k and I failed again. Then with a look of disgust he made me grab my neighbors empty men’s bar. I just looked at him and said ‘this is so embarrassing’, and luckily was able to “clean” and PP it.
Training:
Did some front squat push presses (with correct form at last) and a circuit on tuesday. The circuit was 9 exercises in total, 3 sets each.
Also, lower day went well.
Conv DL - 5x125, 135, 150 4x170 < Too much back rounding going on, so I let 170 go. I’ll get it next time.
Sumo DL - 5x135, 145, 165, 195 < sumo, i heart you
Then some kneeling jumps (stupid defranco thing that’s stupid), hip thrusts, DB rev lunges, plank.
This week, also got in a yoga class, pilates and a 5 mile run (with hill sprints). Typical girlie shit. HAH!
I was supposed to do my upper training today, but I just didn’t feel like it. I’ll hit it tomorrow - Sunday mornings, i’ll have the gym to myself 
And that’s it! Trying to get my sleep and pretty much hibernating. Freaking winter!!
