Never Walk Alone

Hey Cal! HAHAH! Good to know i’m not alone. And yeah, i plucked that sucker out in a hot minute.

Lol! MiM, you know me - I’m a bit of a worrier, so that’s just general panic, nothing extraordinary. As luck would have it (sarcasm) all my work and school deadlines coincide between May and June. So its just a lot of ‘wrapping up’, and this of course puts me a bit on edge. Thank god for the training! that’s probably the only thing that’s keep me sane!

Nadia - Hilarious! The love of a mother is really special, eh? HAH! But yeah, i’m sure everything will turn out lovely and I’ll wear the dress confidently, torpedo tits and all!

Oh Nikki, you’re a girl after my own heart

And as for the upper training sesh…eh…mixed reviews.

First off, I was given homework by my Oly coach to practice push presses (to throw) - I was shooting for 4x4x80, but only managed working up to 2x2x80, did get a 2x4x75 though, so not too bad. I blame the fact that the bar in my regular gym doesn’t spin like the Oly bar at the Oly gym (the handle, if that makes sense to anyone).

Training went as such:
Push presses - 3x65, 4x75, 2x2x80, 4x75
Squats - 2x10x95, 3x5x115 < also homework by coach joe, making sure ATG (and you know I’m a total paralleler, so this is hard for me)
DB flat bench - 2x6x40, 10x40 < I was doubting that i was really ready to do 45s, turns out I am. YAY!

Supersetted:
Pronated pullups - 4, 4, 3, 3,
Atlas pushups w/ feet elevated, the first reps in the parenthesis are explosive where I jump my hands on to the box, the rest just regular - (1, 9), (3,7), (2,8)

So you see, it was off and on there - I was supposed to do 10 sets of pullups but I was having a hard time recovering and then I just lost steam. Kinda sucked, but I put in the effort, so whatevs. I’ll finish them up with some other stuff tomorrow night before conditioning.

Anyways, that’s it for me! rest of the week, more of the same. hah! I’ll be back in two shakes

that’s bizarre that the hair was blonde! haha

doing great in here. you’ll REALLY start to notice when you don’t have a good oly bar from here on out.

can’t wait for pics of the dress. torpedo tits and all!

Oh yes, my grandfather has those bars where the ends spin.
I guess it’s easier when they spin, since the plates aren’t stuck in one spot?
We’re on the same page Dollface lol

I think your workout was “stupendous”.
The push presses are wicked.
40s for the DB bench is crazy as well, now I gotta chase you on those. Ugh, too many things to catch up to.

Don’t be discouraged on the pull-ups either, 10 sets is a lot. I usually stop at 4 or so because that’s when my numbers start to drop. Boo.

gym time is just about all I got to keep me sane as well…

you’ll get it done and look back and say ‘how the fuck did I do that?’ lol

Thats what I’ll be saying soon anyway

I like the push pressing.
I get a single chin hair too. It happens.

Nice squats, the atlas push ups sound very interesting as well.

Also, everyone should have a coach Joe.

Excellent training  And I do get ya on the spinning bar…used to mess me right up when I first got mine and tried to help my grip for deads XD

And the hair…LMAO priceless…I get one too, havent seen it in a bit but once when I was in high school my friends and I were all sitting in a restaurant and the sun must have been ‘shining’ on it LMAO…my friend pulled it thinking it was a fuzzy and my skin went with it…lol, how embarrassing !! The joys

~cheers!

Throwing my towel in on the chin hair. It’s genetic in my case. They started out blondish and got darker with time. I just keep my tweezers in my purse. Nothing like being on a business trip, realizing you got some nice chin fuzz and forgot the tweazers at home. ugh!

Hey peeps!

Things are crazy busy in my world, and on top of that I think my body is going through a moment and has taken a turn for the hormonal (perhaps this coincides with the chin-hair!) - so I’m taking an early deload.

Anyways, I’ve been feeling exhausted, plus I thought I was getting my period, and I can’t remember the last time I took a scheduled deload…so nows a good a time as ever.

That said, still training. Here’s a recap:

Mondays Oly training was crap - have to go 2 steps backward with the snatch and relearn how to pull from the floor. I seriously have a mental block with this!

Tues I finished up my upper workout from Sunday - basically just did my entire 10 sets of pullups supersetted with some pushups and pistol squats. Then did conditioning work.

Weds - oy. I was supposed to do Oly, but on my way to work I got weirdly sick, so i decided to just scrap it. There’s been talk of low blood pressure in the PW logs, and to no surprise, I too have silly low blood pressure - so i think getting sick was related to that. Nauseous, sweaty, etc. So no training.

Thurs - did a BB complex, shoulder band work, a bit of abs

And today I’m going in for some running and pilates, tomorrow maybe some more light full body work.

And then…a weekend full of awesomeness!! I’m so, so excited about my gf’s wedding (and rehearsal dinner!). On top of the fact that I LOVE love, I also love eating and drinking on someone else’s dime. My diet has been pretty much impeccable since Jan 1st, so I’m freaking ready to tear it up come Sunday! My friend already gave me a run down of the menu, so I know there’s going to be tons of yummy food. And of course, lots and lots and LOTS of champagne! YAAAAY!!

Pics of party dress and champagne swilling forthcoming

Have a great weekend everyone! Grip and rip!!

Please, for a poor competition dieter’s sake, post the food that you eat at the wedding! ;D

aw, nikki. i’m laughing… but with empathy, i assure you.

i hear you on the spinning / non-spinning bars. sometimes i work with those pre-loaded barbells and the ends don’t spin and i find it much harder on my wrists. some great push-pressing, and great squatting, too. it is hard being told to do them a bit differently from what you are used to. takes the muscles a little time to adapt to the difference.

i’m also finding the one step forwards - two steps back thing. except often it feels like no steps forwards and about five steps back, sigh. with respect to numbers… my snatch hasn’t gotten any better since i’ve started logging here. hit a PB not long after i started logging… haven’t felt comfortable enough to even attempt it any time since, however. sometimes i feel a bit demoralized about it all…

but still… i’m sure we are making technique progress even if the numbers aren’t doing much. or that the technique regression i’m experiencing is the two steps back which is necessary in order to go forwards kind of regression… or something…

have a wonderful weekend.

Maschy, you’re training like a trooper. I think you’re more than entitled to let rip at the wedding. Take photos.

waiting for pics…

hai!

Can’t wait to see you in the dress pics.

Okaaayyyyy…the wedding was last weeeekennnddddd…still waiting for dresssss picsssssss…

I saw the videos you uploaded to youtube yesterday, pulling looked realy clean as did front squats.

I saw those too.

Maschy, the only thing I noticed was that the bar wasn’t resting on your shoulders and against your throat in the front squats. It’s uncomfortable until you get used to it, but it makes it much easier in the long run. It will keep the weight over your centre of gravity and avoid having the weight get out in front of you as you fatigue.

Hey Joe! Thanks!! The conventional is still a bit of a problem for me though - and I think I still need to start my ass down lower and remember that whole lever action, push through heels, etc. The back rounding is an issue that’s for sure - and I have the DOMs today to prove it.

And I saw your vid…with the singlet…yeah, i think it fits you juuuust fine  Nice work you’re doing there. The meet is right around the corner!!

Hi GIT!!

Oh, i didn’t know that the bar should rest closer to the throat. I thought it should sit squarely on the delts. Thanks for looking out! I will definitely incorporate that.

And as for the pics of the wedding dress…here it is! (and my mug for all to see - gussied up, i’m wearing fake eyelashes fyi)

Anyways, I’m sorry I haven’t been logging. I’m tired, and over worked. But its good!

I’m still lurking your logs bitches! (and gentlemen) So keep killing it! You’re all my inspiration

Stay warm y’alls!
