And just a quick training note -
Training for 2011 will go like this:
2 days Oly
1 DL/lower body day
1 upper body day where I will also do some back/front squatting and continue to focus on my pullups (10 in 2011!..?)
2 days conditioning, one of which I will also train my soccer skills and the other of which I’ll do my pilates
Sprinkled in all of this will be circuits and hill sprints, and hopefully one long endurance run.
I know this looks like a lot, but I feel I can manage. It certainly is ambitious. But the Oly lifting is going to take time and I think it will be a good three months or so before I get past 30kg on the snatch, not to mention I still haven’t learned the C&J. So I figure I can focus on that and conditioning and maintaining the strength I worked so hard and diligently for in 2010. And I hope to god that I get to tryout for the WPS. Even if I don’t get anywhere with that, i’d be happy playing ‘high caliber’ soccer, even for just a day or two.
At any rate, I will take my regularly scheduled deloads and Sundays are God’s day, so those will be OFF days…
long term goals:
To be a lean, mean machine
10 consecutive pullups pronated and neutral (i know I can do 10 chinups, i just know it! I’ll test this out this week - wish me well!)
Short term goals:
Conv DL 5x190
Sumo DL 5x225
DB press my weight < i’m seriously considering doing this Bobbi! I just hope I don’t get too jacked…HAHAH! (dead serious)
What kind of rep scheme do you guys think I should employ for trying to press my weight? I’ve done 5x5 on BB rows and got great results, maybe i can do the same with DB pressing?
Work is going to be crazy, but i think the training will keep me busy and focused. You know what they say…idle hands…
Anyways, that’s it! Here’s to a new year and new training!
