Need Help Bulkin Up!

Hey everyone, im 17 and a new member to the site however ive been using the articles and everything else this great site has to offer for quite some time.

Basically i used to do alot of strength work and plyometrics for basketball, could squat/deadlift 2x my bodyweight and all that. I stopped about 8 or 9 months ago so i think its fair to say the majority of my muscle/strength is gone.

Instead of focusing on strength training i wanna focus more on sizing up this time round, so i realize i need to change my diet and program for that.

Therefore i was wondering if i could get some guidance in terms of a program for bulking up, a good diet to follow, and some reccomendations for supplements best suited to help me with this would be greatly appreciated, thx guys!. just lemme kno if u need anymore training history or anything like that.

Before everyone tears you to shreds, try using the search function and you’ll find everything you need to know.

train to get stronger, eat to grow, rest to recover

WAIT A SECOND!!! You can get stronger…AND bigger at the same time!!!

Could you repeat that…I think I had something crazy in my ear.

I thought you could ONLY gain size by training in a specific rep range!!!

This changes everything.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with starting in the beginners forum. Everything about your post identifies you as a beginner, not a bodybuilder. You will get much better help in that forum than in this one.

X,

I think you are using your search function incorrectly. That and the Brian.m post will be removed very soon. Everyone knows your can ONLY gain size in a specific rep range. You also can BULK for 2 weeks and CUT so you can see all that new shreded muscle while drinkin beer on weekends and smokin weed.

I will alert the MODs about the dangerous direction this thread is heading in and get them to stop it post haste.

Sorry to get you all worked up. Put that crazy back in your ear.

Just stick with the basics.

Compound movements with heavy weights, a solid, but simple, supplementation protocol (I’d reccommend some fish oil, BCAAs, a good protein powder and a multi-vitamin, perhaps some creatine)and a good diet.

Eat plenty of quality calories (fish, chicken, lean red meat, rice, sweet potatos, oatmeal, pasta, vegetables, natural peanut butter, cottage cheese, milk - and don’t be afraid of a burger or three) and get adequate rest. If you can devote yourself to that for a reasonable period of time you will see results.

Whew. That’s actually a little comforting. I’ve been training for two whole weeks and I need to add 4 inches to my arms and see my abs by Spring Break.

Next year, I’ll start training in, like, NOVEMBER or something.

Dude, you’ll get overtrained!!!

Didn’t you say you are using the articles and everything else?

Actually, I’ll write up a 12-week diet and training program for you …

… for a fee of 400 bucks!

Whoa there, then he will get too big, no need for that, in fact he should wait to start in December at the absolute earliest, bulk using no more than 2500 cals and cut using no more than 1500, duh, its common knowledge. And don’t forget to take weeks off at a time because of the ease of overtraining.

ROFL - Ladies and Gentlemen we have a winner!

Safety Notice: Bending your knees is potentially harmful. Avoid squating at all costs! My personal trainer says that if I must deficate I should do it standing up so I do not have to have costly knee replacment surgery and low back trouble. Standing on an unstable surface is enough to train my lower body so get me a bosu ball and some pink dumbells.

I am going to get SWOLE!

Make sure you get the latex-coated ones!

Remember the pink cardio skirt too, and you’ll be fine.
