**Felt pretty good again but I’ve got videos to see for sure. I always forget to put the bar down like i picked it up (thanks lex) for the first rep so I need to keep that in mind.

**Last rep on the last couple sets was ugly, but I wasn’t going to give up after dropping down on that first set.
…and that’s all she wrote. I seem to be moving on island time today. I’m decidingg it’s time I took a little better care of myself because I feel myself gearing towards a crash pretty soon.
Lex-bummer about no strongman! and i’m ok with decaf, but yes-there are times when coffee=life juice!
Sbmart: thanks. I’ve been cutting back a little bit this week so we’ll see. And I meant 8000 mg, not 800!
Here’s the video of the 165-I think I still need to keep it closer to me and sit back a bit more…but the back is feeling better so I’m happy about that.
Thanks nads! I used to love PE class when we had to do pull ups because I could always beat the boys Honestly, you’re my motivation to kill it with the pull ups, the amount that you do is boggling to me, I’m determined to catchya!
Lula’s year of unfortunate events continued…summer flu take 2 this past Sunday, then yesterday, my bike got stolen. motherfucker! All I can really do is laugh. I got an email from the officer in charge of my case saying that they have a suspect they are looking for. For some reason this just sends me into a fit of laughter. I want to tell them to forget the bike, go fight crime and what not.
Anyway-I had intentions to go in and front squat for MIM but simply moving that bar felt heavy. I got my period this morning and decided not to fight biology, and took a page from nadia (and mike boyle’s article, i’ll find it and post the link, it’s a good one and i love me some boyle) and worked on unilateral/explosive stuff today. Shiz is tough.

The deadlifts look REALLY Good. Way to fix it up! Your low back salutes you.
Sorry to hear about your bike. I hope you see the jack ass who stole it, and push him off and take it back.
On the speed rows, are you keeping your elbow tucked to your side? Also, do you focus on pulling your scapula down so that your shoulder isn’t hitched up towards your ear? If not, these may be the culprit.
Boo on your bike being stolen. I’ll see your motherfucker and raise you a Sumbitch! shakes fist That’s just lowdown, taking somebody’s wheels. :\
Looks like a productive training session despite feeling like the front squats were a no go. For some reason when I think of band punches I think of you in this exaggerated boxer’s stance throwing haymakers like Balrog- chuckles ensue on my end.
I liked your deadlifts…and, again…you are stunning.
Man, I would be SO bummed out if any of my bicycles were stolen. You are taking this well, so I assume that replacing your ride won’t be difficult or too expensive.
Sbmart: 5 Superior Single Leg Exercises
Mike Boyle is largely the reason I don’t back squat—I just really agree with lots that he has to say. For the rows—the shoulder is just from tweaking it last week (from moving my big girl 45 plates! hand to forehead). I just need to give it a little break and it should be alright. And thanks for the praise on the DLs! Your advice really helped me out—thank you!!
Kristoph: I love your posts! You just crack me up. I admit, I had to google ‘balrog’ but I’m glad I did, because now chuckles ensue over here as well. I will summon that next time I go nuts on the band. And do you have a log, man? I’ve been looking with no luck.
MIM: I dig you. So, cool
Kimba: Thank you, and wow-thank you, I blush! I never get tired of the compliments! As for the bike, I don’t know, I’m kind of taking the c’est la vie approach these days. I imagine your bikes are worth much more than mine was though, so I think you being bummed would be justified. The only thing I’m upset about is that I was hoping to get a new snowboard this year, but looks like it will be year of the bike. Which brings me back around to thinking I really should get your opinion on bikes. I’ve been flirting with getting into road biking for some time now, maybe this is the time!
Nadia: I actually noticed my left leg was tougher. And looking in the mirror-it is noticeably smaller than my right. My right leg is my take-off leg, I wonder this that has anything to do with it? Which leg do you cartwheel/leap with?
And those DLs looked great! A bit too easy, if you ask me
Love that complex. No rest is killer!
Sucks about the bike - but I like your c’ast la vie approach! shrug waddya gonna do? Hopefully a better bike will come along…like the one from Pee Wee Herman’s Great Adventure? lol!
Masch: Thanks! And Pee Wee’s bike would be awesome! My garage sale search just got profoundly larger

Tabata: After finals are through next week, I’ll start getting more creative. I promise.
Squats felt tough but I’m feeling better about sitting back into it. The presses were frustrating. It’s like I get the two in and then I have nothing after that. Last week I felt like I was making progress, this week I feel like I’m treading water. Meh. Accessory stuff felt easier, so I guess there’s that.
Dear NFL lockout-please get yourself fixed. kthx
Have a good weekend!!
OH! And boring but here’s a video of 130x4. Lighting’s a little wonky.
Looking good! On your presses, think of it as a total body movement. Feel the power start from your feet, and then work its way up the legs, glutes, core, upper back, and the chest/shoulder/triceps. Also, when lowering it, make your lats work, and don’t put all the stress on the tri’s/shoulders. Want to go for the feeling of the bar resting on your lats, not just laying limp on your chest. Once I started doing this, my MP sky rocketed.
