Figured since have been doing this for some time, I might as well start posting. I have had some good success increasing my lifts. My biggest obstacle is being a bitch about my waistline, so I go between trying to get as strong as possible and mini-dieting quite a bit. Anyway:
TRAINING MAXES:
SQUAT: 440
BENCH: 310
DEADLIFT: 505
MILITARY: 200
This past cycle, I performed thusly:
SQUAT: 369x10, 390x7, 407x5
BENCH: 260x9, 275x7, 290x5
DEADLIFT: 418x11, 440x10, 463x9
MILITARY: 171x10, 176x8, 187x5
Just finished the deload week, so back to the week of 5 on Monday (SQUAT).
Haha thank you. I guess I worry about staying in my lower weight classes (165, 181).
I never feel too beastly though because amongst some of the guys at the gym are a 600, 800, and 1000lb squat. Granted, the 800 and grand were in gear, but at that weight it really doesn’t detract.
Today, Fort Meig’s Hill in Perrysburg. It is a ruthless hill. I am going to estimate 100-120 yards long and I can’t even guess the grade. Very steep. Did 8 with 90 sec rest. I needed a break from reading STEP-UP TO MEDICINE. A man can only read about the ill effects of poor dietary habits and sedentary lifestyle for so long until he must exert himself.
I am trying to lean out a little bit since my normally tight diet slipped while starting clerkships in mid-July. Nothing drastic, since nothing drastic happened, but it just time to peel some goo. I walked for 40-45 minutes Mon-Fri last week, but frankly, I view walking as a waste of time. So, I took a slightly shorter course, & decided to run it.
SQUAT: 286x5, 330x5, 375x10 (PR), 375x2x5 286x5
RDL: 375x2x5
FRONT SQUAT: 264x2 (5 cluster sets=10 reps)
KB SWING: 130x10,12,15
AB SNAPDOWN: Green bandx30x3
Conditioning: Prowler (100lbs)x20; 20 yards; 20 sec. rest
That squat was not easy. FIrst 3 reps sucked, next 5 were great, last 2 were a grind. And conditioning sucked just as much as it always does, but it makes you awesome (thanks be to Wendler) so I do it.
You should feel ecstatic about being whipped around like a trapeze artist. Saw that you stand a towering 5’nothing. Nice. And thank you m’lady. That squat did feel great after I racked it. Just trying to build some wheels to compare to yours.
Yummo Keebler… no mention of cookies, I gotta get shredded like you.
You do the prone rows with a BB? I kept seeing them done with DBs, I think I’m going to do that.
So excited, I love new exercises
I’ll look for you PR DL tomorrow… I’m sure you’ll pick up a car or something.
