The questions I have are kind of silly. Here are a couple:
- The t-shirt. Does it have to be plain? (i.e. no writing on it?)

This is technically a rule but I think they don’t enforce it often… depends on the personality of the people running it… remember most of your shirt is covered by your singlet.

2. Do I give just opening numbers when I weigh in, or do I give them all of my attempts…but these attempts can change during the meet?
[/quote]
Just the openers. After you hit your opener, you have a minute to give them your next attempt. Ditto for giving them your 3rd attempt after you hit your 2nd. Bring in what you plan to hit for all 9 attempts, and if one feels heavier/lighter than it should, adjust accordingly when you tell them.

3. Once I touch the bar, do I need to start lifting? I know this is dumb, but in gymnastics (as you know, with your daughter) once you touch the beam/bars…your routine has started, and I can’t get that mentality out of my head and am afraid I’ll rush.

Once they call “bar loaded” you have 60 seconds to start your lift if I remember correctly… maybe it was 30 but I’m pretty sure it was 60. You can lift within the commands. For example bench, you can grab the bar, do all the setup/mental prep you want, then lift off whenever you want. You hold it steady over your head until they call “bench”, then you lower it, pause on your chest until they say “press”, then press up and hold lockout until they call “rack”. Deadlift you can lift whenever the hell you want. Squat, you unrack it, step back, and once you are completely still they’ll call “squat”… do you squat, hold your lockout until they call “rack”, and rack it.
Probably could have answered that with less words…

EDIT: 4. Is chalk usually provided, or BYO?
…I think that’s all for now.
THANKS!

Usually provided but bring your own in case. You can get practically a lifetime supply off elitefts.com for 10 bucks or so.
