i think you know my stance on pain from my log. lol. it’s a necessary evil. it all comes down to ignoring it, as long as it can be ignored. i even wrote a poem about it that I go back to a lot. embrace it. just make sure to keep yourself healthy as possible though. here is a great article on it by Dave Tate.

And I am totally at ease with being in pain-I don’t think anyone can be in this sport and not indulge in it somewhat. But (!) it has to be the good kind of pain. The kind of pain that I will have when I am 40, that I’m not ever going to embrace. I’ll check out the article. And 225x3…herewego!

I think 225 looked great!! Speed was good and form looked fine. Don’t be so hard on yourself. :slight_smile:

great work on the 225 Lula - and I’ve seen some much uglier max efforts, stuff to make your eyes bleed. That was far from awful.

Very nice 225. You’ve still got more in you. And that’s good news.

Don’t get hung up on perfect form when you’re pulling near max. But do try to focus on good form during normal training for reps.

And I, too, have struggled with knowing when to push through pain and when to take a break.

Because I’m a super geek, I just read the NPR book ‘This I Belive’ and one of the essays was I believe in being uncomfortable. It really resonated with me and I think you’d like it to. The book as a whole is a pretty thought provoking yet bite sized read, I think you should add it to what I imagine is already a huge pile.

*Disappointed in my pressing—I felt like I should be able to do a few more reps. My sticking point seems to be my eyeballs. I’m going to need to reassess this for my next wave.
*De-load next week! That Wendler dude sure got that part of the program spot on.

i have fallen in love with your squats lula. absolutely beautiful form. there are at least 5 guys I see “squat” I could show this too and make them cry, as they are no where near parallel with that much weight. also, throw in some DB seated press. helped me in the bottom on the MP.
