Yesterday:
10 1:10 hill repeats
10 20s straight sprints
Today
Couldn’t sleep so–
30 minutes 20% incline 2.5 mph
And then:
Plate warm up 25#
Squats (came out of retirement! first time I’ve back squatted since the first round of college, and decided to have fun and see how much I could put on the bar)
barx10
95x8
135x6
185x3x2
225x1x2
I never got why people were afraid of these, but on one of my 225 reps I got stuck half way up and I felt that fear. good fear though, got my legs straight at least.
MP
Barx10
65x8
85x6
100x1x3!!!
Set this as an end of the year goal and got it, hoozah!
Then did some random stuffs-
burpee-explosive push up-pull-up
curls
tri extensions
dips
ended with power clean-squat-press 65x6x4
My camera is on the fritz (for those keeping track, i’ve replaced my car, my bike, my computer, and now my camera. i personally am keeping the economy going) and I really really wanted to have vids of the squats and the cleans. hopefully i can get some kind of replacement next week.
i’ve been going into the weights nilly-willy, which is obviously a recipe for success (eye roll). I like knowing which weights to go in and lift, but I like kind of doing what feels good that day, so I’m going to sit this weekend and try to devise a plan that allows for both.
I get a lot of questions, and pressure from myself, about what my goals are for training. Powerlifting/Oly lifting/Figure, what ta do? Part of me feels like I need something to work towards, it’s all I’ve done my whole life…but I’ve been realizing lately (and probably again) that doing something purely out of enjoyment, because it makes me feel good about myself and about life in general, is ok. I am trying to stop putting pressure on myself and am going to live for pure enjoyment for awhile.
I’m really liking this right now-
