Muscle alignment doctors

Hey all it seems the Big D’s shoulder is really becoming a problem, so I am looking into different types of treatment. I don’t beleive my injury is rotator cuff related because most rotator problems cause pain in the back of the shoulder, mine however is in the front. I noticed when I was overhead pressing that my shoulder does not line up properly. when in an overhead press position my problematic shoulder somehow shifts so the deltoid pulls closer to my body and sits higher up in the socket…it looks like my shoulder is actually dislocated, but it is only in the overhead position. I remember reading on T-mag about a specific type of doctor that deals with joint alignments and muscle balance. Does anyone know what this type of specialist is called, I haven’t been able to locate it. I do not wish to see an orthopedic as they usually want to preform surgery which I will not do, but I want to fix this alignment issue. thanks to anyone who can offer help

There are articles here under ART. I just had this treatment for my legs and hips. There is not doubt about the benefits. But, my god, the pain - get ready! Any good chiropractor should be familiar with this, if not go to the website
for Active Release Technique and they will list practicioners(sp) in your area.

It’s called active release technique or ART, dozer. You can do a search for Active release technique on tmag and you’ll pull up the interview with Dr. Michael Leahy, the inventor. The stuff is the best form of therapy I’ve ever had on my lifting injuries. After you read the article, if you have any questions, give a holler.
