Mr. Olympia 2011

another

Phil looks like Mr. Olympia material right now.

Thats what I was wondering and asked last night but no one knows, surprised so few noticed, its freakin purple/black ffs

Phil wins tonight if he can hold his condition and Jay doesnt dry up

Jays width & pecs just go on forever

Jay’s starting to get that Greg Kovacs’ look… big, mature muscle that’s heading into distorted territory.

Ok so from doing a bit of reading people have 3 opinions about Jay’s bicep

  1. Tear
  2. Problem with synthol shot
  3. Abscess

Phil looks great.

All Jay has is his width at this point. Phil has surpassed him in every shot. I wish I got to stay awake for the side-by-side comparisons though. Barring a disaster, this is Phils best chance to win so far.

Victor looked really good too. Glad to see that. [/quote]

This is where it really sunk in for me.

I think Jay might be sick or have something wrong with his arm…

It’s sad because it’s true. But I wouldn’t say that until Jay comes onstage looking like he is pregnant and had his muscle bellies butchered.

Not meaning to hijack, since you brought Kovacs up, he recently claimed his condition at the 2004 Arnold was caused by an intestinal infection and other complications… not sure if I believe it.

These comparison shots really put things into perspective. Phil looks like the top dog, and it seems that Jay has regressed from last year.

Jay’s midsection is waaaay too wide and bloated, thats why no one could touch Coleman when he was in his prime. he was bigger than jay with a tight waist.
like others have said , back when Coleman competed the heat was on Jay to get big as possible so he wont be dwarfed by Ronnie who was a true mass monster. now that Coleman’s out of the picture Jay got stuck with too much mass to look elegant next to the other guys. Jay is looking more and more like Greg Kovacs. high dose GH has fucking ruined BB’s with an already wide midseciton.

That is a pretty wide waist. In that vid above, whenever he relaxes even a little, his waist is as wide as his quad sweep. That’s no joke.

Someone like that would look like they were carrying a small child in their gut after a meal.

This Olympia feels to me like the '99 Oly.

I was so certain of victory for Flex Wheeler (Phil really reminds me of him in many ways).

I hope this isn’t a rerun of that night.

I wonder how much things could change next week at the Sheru Classic that strangely, no one has talked about on this forum…

I think this statement is incorrect. I don’t think GH is the reason, at least not in itself, that Jay looks like that. For one, he has always had a wide waist. Two, he is nearly 40. I am pretty certain that if anyone were to carry that much muscle for two decades, their waist may get a little larger to compensate…especially if deadlifts were a major part of the routine for years.

Like you have said, age and genetics DO play a big role, but one cannot ignore the fact that bedybuilders who’ve had a very tight waist have balooned up and threw off their symmetry since GH has become as common as gatorade.

Coleman and Kai are good examples as you can clearly see how it affected their waist. while perhaps not as much as i think it has, clearly there is more to it than deadlifts and age.

I’d like to see Jay out of 2nd place. The rest of the top 6 have way better shape and his bicep is completely jacked (although we’ll see how it looks
tonight).

GH has little to do with waist increases and internal organ growth.
Insulin and IGF-1 are more likely suspects.

There’s a big difference between the midsection being large due to organ growth and just being wide. Jay doesn’t really have the distension issue that some other guys do, he’s just wide everywhere.

And I believe Jay’s arm looks that way because someone over applied tanning lotion on that area.

Otherwise either he tore that region or developed a massive infection, most unlikely because the pain would make posing to be almost impossible, or at least very awkward.

Damn and Jay’s photos from a few weeks out looked amazin’. I heard bicep tear from the shoulder.
