Mr. Olympia 2011

phil and jay

Phil is scrunching his left side up and it is totally throwing off his symmetry. So annoying!

Great capture, Lonnie!

Phil has him this year so far.

Curry with a second call out.

Alright boys, thats probably it for me tonight… almost 4 hours of this, gotta be productive at some point.

Been fun, long work day tomorrow so I wont be around. Hope the pics helped

I’m heading to bed, gentlemen. I have a wedding to attend tomorrow.

Nice work posting still shots, Lonnie! Thanks!

Later!

Go Phil!

the only place jay beats phil in is length of collar bones

good job with the pics Lonnie

I really think it is phil’s show to lose at this point.

Jay is wider, but phil smoked him from the back just now.

EDIT:

If Kia would just get fucking shreaded… .

Phil needs to win this. His massive improvements + Jay’s disastrous left arm = new Mr. Olympia.

My top 5 so far:

  1. Phil. Looks massive, unbelievable muscle on smallish frame but still somehow aesthetic. BIg improvement from last year, which is saying something.
  2. Jay. Wide, but doesn’t have that pop that Phil has. Read in Sept MD him talking about how when he was competing with Ronnie the pressure was on to be a huge as possible, but now he relies on his ‘unique look’. MISTAKE IMO. Still beats Phil in quads but not by enough.
  3. Kai. MOUNTAINS of muscle, but doesn’t have Jay’s bones or Phil’s shape.
  4. Victor. Possibley his best yet, BIG but not as hard as others.
  5. Wolf.

Most overlooked are Johnnie Jackson and Robert Burneika IMO.

Good Olympia this year.

Jay not at his best.

I really don’t think Jay has brought it this year whereas Phil most definitely has.
Jay is big and very dry but lacks any flow or fullness like he had in 09.
Phil has really narrowed the size gap and is looking perfectly rounded and full, if he can get drier (his legs in particular) for tonight I think he can steal it.
Kai is looking good but again is holding water so hopefully will look insane tonight.

Phil looks great.

All Jay has is his width at this point. Phil has surpassed him in every shot. I wish I got to stay awake for the side-by-side comparisons though. Barring a disaster, this is Phils best chance to win so far.

Victor looked really good too. Glad to see that.

Jay in 09 and last night.
I thought the separation in his back this year didn’t come through either

Watching the replay of last night’s prejudging now… Heath looks amazing,… Jay’s not as good as in '09, which isn’t good for him as Heath obviously has improved quite a bit since last year when it was DAMN close.

Have to agree! I’m rooting for Heath at this point for sure… I would say jay still looks unbeatable in some shots but since he’s looked better in the past it might not be enough

Jay looks wider and his chest is more open, although i think the only think letting him down is the width of his waist. Phil’s physique looks more pleasing but he seems smaller than Jay, his loegs also don’t look dry enough.

Hard to call really.

However if Kai’s conditioning was more on par i think he could seriously cause some problems in this comp!

What is the deal with Jay’s bicep?
