why not just read the astrology page in the paper? just as valid. point is everyone can read any of the types and pick the one they like and say “wow, thats me” gee I wonder how many people on this board think they are “protien/ fat” types? some thing of this thread, from th protien/fat part " excellent digestion, have energy problems and swings, don’t do well losing weight by cutting calories" WHAT? lets get this right, they have excelent digestion but have energy probs and can’t loose wt. by cutting cals? another one " gain weight eating too many carbs"- gee ain’t that EVERYONE (lock up ‘too many’)“eating before bed helps sleep”- again EVERYBODY,and from the “low fat/high carb” part, they have “excellent concentration & motivation, irritable, hyperactive” but they are " more withdrawn socially" WHAT? so these people sit in the corner pissed off at the world while they rock back and forth but they concentrate REAL hard while they do it!!
some facts, EVERYONE WILL LOOSE WT. IF THEY CUT CALS.!!! EVERYONES ENERGY LEVELS FLUCTUATE!!! EVERYONE WILL GAIN WT. IF THEY TAKE IN “TOO MANY” CARBS!!!
and last NO ONE will get anything out of this thread.
Or is it Hetyeh225? Sure this method is far from perfect but why don’t you pay attention to others and realize people do have different personalities, preferences, and conditions. Did you ever think that physiology might help determine certain characteristics. Oh I forgot you’re from the H.I.T. school where one size fits all and a calorie of fruit loops is the same as a calorie of broccoli so you wouldn’t understand how various macronutrient combinations can effect people differently. Why don’t you get out of the 70’s information age and contribute something substantial to this forum from time to time.
“a calorie of fruit loops is the same as a calorie of broccoli so you wouldn’t understand how various macronutrient combinations can effect people differently” IT IS THE SAME YOU MORON. first you post your little thing and I guess everyone should say “you are soooo smart” I point out things you say, like how you say one group will “gain weight eating too many carbs” I guess I have to explain what TOO MANY means to you. The fact that you can not understand that a cal. is a cal. is a cal. is incredible to me. granted you must get enough of each, but after you get enough protien, fat and carbs, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE THE OTHER CALS COME FROM FOR WT. LOSS OR WT. GAIN!!! stop screaming “look at me, I be smart” … ahhh whats the sense.
Yep, hetyey225 is back as dunhill225 and just as stupid as ever. You think he’d learn something from T-mag, but I guess he only comes to the forum to spread ignorance. Hey fat bartender, pour me a drink! ![]()
Hetyey225, please read this at least (first question):
Strength Training, Bodybuilding & Online Supplement Store - T NATION
Be careful though, you may learn something!
I guess my post to this thread was either 1)Ignored or 2) Certain people choose to remain ignorant. Either way…so be it.
The most preventable cause of mental retardation worldwide are what are called the Inborn Errors of Metabolism. These are disorders in which macronutrients are improperly broken down leading to the build up of metabolites that are detrimental to proper CNS function. This is NOT “hocus pocus” or astrology, but physiologic facts.
Second reality check, folks: GENETICS DETERMINES STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION! Again, it’s not “Hocus Pocus” BUT PROVEN that depending upon underlying genetics, diet can PROFOUNDLY affect health. From In-Born errors of Metabolism (Phenylketonuruia, Galactosemia, Acidurias, etc.) to Lactose intolerance to Diabetes to Irritable Bowel, OUR UNDERLYING GENETICS CAN ALMOST “DICTATE” DIET! These disorders tend to be “the extremes”, but it is not a far stretch to extrapolate that the Human Population sits on some type of “Bell Distribution” in terms of 1)the degree to which our diet affects our health and 2)The degree to which macro and micronutrients can affect it. Listen to the cues that your body gives you.
Mufasa, I agree with your basic concept about genetic makeup determining how one should eat, etc. Where I disagree, and I’m not sure that it is you that I disagree with, is that people cannot be neatly divided up into two groups. Once you say, “Oh, not everyone falls exactly into either group,” you’ve invalidated the theory. For every single characteristic described to distinguish metabolic type, people are going to be differing DEGREES of one or the other, rarely black/white this or that. Just as psychologists concluded when they tried to categorize personality types, there could be as many metabolic types as there are people in the world. Having said that, it is every individual’s responsibility to figure out, via trial and error, what works for them. One last thing, a calorie is NOT a calorie. I’ve found that one out through experience.
Agree completely, especially with each individual figuring out what works for them. It just bugs me a bit when someone is ready to dismiss a hypothesis because they don’t understand it. I am of the feeling that IF a principle is sound, then at least look into it.
I’ll say this over and over again (and it’s something that J.B. really brought home to me recently): EVERY diet and workout regimen that you may read about HAS to be modified to each individuals responses. (Thanks for the great response, Hyok!)
Wow. Talk about a 2 year bump.
I have no idea if the original posters are still there, but so far Kelly, Mufasa and Char hit the nail right on the head. Don`t let the oversimplifying dumbasses get to you.
For those that disagree with the clan A vs B thing, dumbasses*, its a checklist. No ones expected to score or to have 100% in a category.
- Now, if you absolutely need polarized views and cannot tolerate dualities, paradoxes and gray zones, well… you
re hopeless at start: youre just projecting your intolerance for uncertainty.
Finally, science is catching up with reality: each individual is different. While some packages come together more often as types (ecto, endo, meso, carb, protein, blood type, etc.), ultimately its YOYO: Youre On Your Own precisely because everyone`s different.
