In that first video, i just saw a bunch of people having fun doing odd lifts, i think i even saw a fast-curl/ press at one point.
You guys saying ‘oh that looks dumb/painfull’, i wonder when was the last time you lifted a heavy weight from the floor and while standing, pressed it over your head
oh and another important note. The exercise is one thing, but IMO it’s way more scary that what look like teens are doing this.
I don’t think anyone disagrees with you that the form is terrifying, and I haven’t said one way or the other whether I think it’s appropriate for them to be doing this. I couldn’t even begin to guess what their goals are. I responded based on the “apparently this is a real lift” comment. All I’m saying is that yes, it is a real lift, it does have value in strongman, and the girls are scary sloppy (much like most posters’ girlfriends - HEY-O!).
If there was a “read between the lines” that I missed, and you were implying that it isn’t a real lift because it was executed poorly, I apologize for missing the subtlety.
Gotcha, perhaps poor choice of words on my part. I included it because when it was going around FB, many didn’t realize at first it was a real exercise. I probably should have caught on after several people were rotating their hands on the bar mid lift.
About a month ago I was on site at an automotive supplier facility when this guy starts talking about how he just got out of the hospital after near kidney failure and a host of other symptoms. I don’t know what made me think of it, but I asked if he had Rhabdomyolysis. He got this puzzled look on his face and said yeah and that he had never heard of it before being diagnosed. I then asked if he was doing Xfit and he asked how in the hell I knew that. Guess they don’t explain that part in the orientation.
