One of my problems is that I cannot eat all of the food you guys are recommending me. It is extremely difficult to down more than a bowl of oatmeal in the morning… My appetite is rare, and when it arises I can kill it with the smallest of meals.
I am eating well enough now to know that I am getting adequate protein (roughly 70-120g of protein a day)
My main focus right now is cardio… so if you think my weightlifting is down… please realize I am working my ass off on the track, or on a stair stepper. I am pushing 30+ minutes of cardio a day. I have already lost a good amount of weight while I was NOT dieting… which I attribute to a mile a day.
I am getting several mixed messages on this board, some say interval training…others say consistent training.
Today I did shrugs, triceps, calves, hamstrings, situps, and then I ran out of time (dentist appointment)
For breakfast
I made an egg sandwich (2 eggs), oatmeal with natural peanut butter in it, a big glass of OJ and some unsalted nuts.
eating isnt allowed in school, I dont know how much I can stress this, it really gets in the way… I think I am gonna start packing my nuts and bringing them to school (literally and figuratively
Lunch I had the same thing as yesterday… Turkey sandwich on wheat, lettuce w/ that… an apple, 2% milk and some water.
After Workout: Can of Tuna, Banana
Dinner I will be having spaghetti with a large salad, going to scarf down some unsalted nuts, maybe an egg before bed or something… not sure.
Is spaghetti a good dinner? I thought we werent supposed to have a lot of carbs at night.
How old are you?..
I felt like posting because of the “I am getting several mixed messages on this board, some say interval training…others say consistent training.” You’re not getting mixed messages. Interval training is, for instance, sprinting all out for 30-60 seconds, then walking for a minute or so depending on how much experience you have, and then sprinting again. Doing this multiple times (say 8 “reps”) is going to be more effective fat loss wise than a bunch of cardio.
You really need more than 120g of protein if you weigh 200lbs… unless you have 60% bf.
You don’t have to eat in class to make it through the day, I eat breakfast at 7:30, then lunch at 11, then at 3, when i get home, I’ll have another, its not necessarily ideal, but you’ve gotta work with what you got instead of complaining about what you don’t.[/quote]
Thanks for the post.
I assumed that my protein intake was on par because I read some posts in the diet & nutrition forum and most people were reporting similar protein intake…
I am 18.
My actual plan for cardio is to do long distance at a high rate of speed for awhile to build up endurance, and then do the interval sprints… and cut my overall cardio down to 20 minutes a day of interval training.
