Granted, it’s being posted by a Creatine Powder supplier, but nevertheless, it has merit.
So I returned my bottle of creatine serum, got my money back, and now will quit using Creatine. It never did anything for me in powder form, and it looks like it’ll never do anything for me in liquid form either.
JeffT, thanks for your input…your post is what made me want to dig deeper into the issue. The other ‘posts’ just made me want to hit someone!
The reason I thought creatine serum was legit was the following quote from John Berardi:
“In fact, we’ve seen some yet unpublished data to suggest that there are quite a few liquid creatine products out there that remain stable in solution for long periods of time. Our suggestion would be to try only liquid creatine products from reputable well-established companies with a good history of quality control.”
The problem, of course, is that I have no idea who the f#ck is reputable in this industry…except BIOTEST, of course.
I have tried various brands of Creatine powder over the years, and used each according to the ‘study’ of the day…i.e., loading/no loading/10g per day/5g per day/etc…
I never noticed anything significant. I use the word ‘significant’ because I weigh 140 pounds at 5’ 3", and if a supplememnt is going to help add lean muscle, I outta know about it’s effects on me pretty damn quick (2-3 weeks). My strength never went up while on Creatine in such a way that I could claim it was the supplement. Nor did my LBM, so in the end I just concluded that if there was a creatine effect, it was too insignificant for me to continue to spend $$ on.
I’m preparing for a MAG-10 cycle to be followed by Tribex, so hopefully my body will respond significantly to those supps. Otherwise, I’ll just eat like a pig and never buy another friggin supplement again…yeah, right!
all i do is add the tablespoon of creatine with 2 to 2.5 tablespoons of pure dextrose. ( same sugar that is in most juices that they “tell” you is good). mix it with like 5-7 oz. of water…stir or shake it. down it real quick, and then drink water heavily for an hour or so after. i drink a shitload of water anyways though.
the additional dextrose makes it taste like sugar water.
Keep it simple. Just buy straight up creatine monohydrate. Drink plenty of water every day and stay well hydrated. Eat it by the spoonful or dissolve it in warm water or tea. Take 5-10 grams a day.
I gained weight on creatine, and even if it was only water, my all my lifts went up in weight. I was a big-time responder. I also used 20-30 grams per day, when I made my best gains.
But I guess we all have different experiences…
I used to do the whole grape juice thing, now I just swish it around in a little water, gulp it down, then swish a little more water around to get all the residue. I take it either right before or right after a regular meal. or in a protein drink.
MetRx made a micronized creatine that dissolved well, but I think it was discontinued. I recommend you just buy the plain stuff with no added sugars.
Creatine might not work for everybody, but it definitely works.
Poliquin says to use 20 to 30 gms a day, and that most guys under-dose with creatine. (I think I must have posted that here 50 times now.) Maybe some of you guys need to make the “loading dose” your daily dose and see how that works?
