The records for florida weight lifting in highschool is pretty insane actually. 230lb kid benched 510 paused last year raw. Kids have clean and jerked 400+lbs and totaled well over 800.

Il need a close to 400 clean and jerk and close to 500 pause bench to do it, which is no joke at all when you consider the form it takes for clean and jerk and the fact that I gotta move my grip in and keep my feet flat on the floor on bench. So its gonna be pretty damn hard.

first time doing dumbell flat bench in like a year, I remember why I hated it. Hard to get into position, akward, I need to improve this.
50x10
75x10
100x5
125x5 easy, should had done like 12 with this and called it a day
150x2 paused because it was so akward

Slight incline dumbell shoulder press
50x10
75x8
110x10 PR, akward

Dips
320x3x10 1x17 PR

Dumbell incline fly
20x15
30x10
40x10
50x10
60x7 PR

Pushdown
3x20

OH cable ext
3x20 1x10

Side laterals
20x20
30x10
40x10
50x10

Decent workout, gettin jacked…

I really need to improve my dumbell work

i’m in the same boat although older than you my mum now pretends to have an interest in it now as opposed to being flat out against it, dad thinks i do stupidly heavy weights but is impressed i guess. they worry about the supplements i take and they also realize there’s a big chance that im going to get myself into trouble because of little guys wanting to test the big guy(i’m not that big 6’2 at my biggest 107kg and i was a fat cunt lol but generally the biggest guy at any club)

when they heard about me stepping into an argument between a guy and his girlfriend they freaked out although proud i guess( wasn’t involved til the guy hit his girlfriend, then i had him pinned against the wall squealing)but yeah there is always going to be people who try to take away that motivation and put you down just for the simple fact they dont understand, keep lifting and updating your log as it is one that i read quite regularly

nice avatar jtg987 thats half the reason i read this log

keep up the good work mega newb! do you plan on now bodybuilding or just a diff style workout for a while but still powerlifting?

If I saw some random guy hit his girl friend I would have done the same thing. Who just stands by when that happens… Unless it was Sean Connery in which case it would be ok.

One of the big reasons I started lifting was because kids who could bench 135 could probably kick my ass. And because I was 215lbs but only benched 105 my size made me a great choice for people who wanted a easy target. I looked big but mine as well have been 90lbs because I had no strength so people way older than me stronger than me etc would have no problem fighting me because of my size.

I have now got to a size (320lbs) where the people who would start shit with me, are afraid to. I mean I dont go clubing or anything so its really just school where people might want to prove them self and try to fight me. And Im glad to say I havent been in a fight in about 2 years. And this last year no one even remotely tryed to start anything with me.

The benefits are the bully’s and people who talk the most shit try to befriend you in order to avoid fighting you.

I only have good things to say about being big.

Im still strength oriented but I mine as well train for size to if Im gonna lift. Extra shoulder, arm, and back work cant hurt no matter what you train for.

Ok, enough time off squats. I need to start squating again asap. Tomorrow Im gonna rep out with 405 and I swear on my life Il die before I re rack the weight.

I’m really impressed about your lift aswell as your mind about lifting…
I can imagine that no ones want to fight with you…thats definatly a plus being bigger even when I’m not that big as you are

its really the biggiest plus of lifting at all for me. I used to get in allot of fights because I apparently was a easy target and had to act tough to prove other wise.

Now that Im big I never catch any shit, in other words, people are cowards and only pick on those who they are almost sure they would beat in a fight.

today

squats just a belt, after 6 week lay off…
135x5
225x5
315x5
405x2
495x4… decent, considering my best was 605x3 I lose about 80lbs off my max in 6 weeks. In 5 weeks or so Il probably be backup to repping with 605 again.

t-bar row
45x10
90x10
135x10
180x10
225x10

dumbell curls
?X?

Shity workout, il hit legs bodybuilding style tommorow

isnt that the god damn truth, the thing that annoys me the most though you get some 160lb kid telling you your lifts arent impressive because of your weight, this is the one that gets me one of my mates weighs around 70kg and bench 80kg and at the time he’s like that like you benching 110kg(i was around 95kg), thinking some how since im bigger than him it means the weight on the bar is less

btw if you like my avatar you can always check my cutting log and my awesomeness thread in sama forum

LOL, I love when people who weigh way less than me compare body weight lifts to mine.

After being on the internet for a while I heard the best come back to this kind of shit.

ā€œIts about opening the pickle jar, not about how hard you try for your body weight to open the pickle jarā€ In other words who cares what you can lift for your body weight when I can throw you across the room and you couldnt budge me with a running start.

Another good one is, I prefer not to have to tell people my body weight for my lifts to become impresive

I like to follow that up with, ā€œstay smallā€ or other random insults I give to people why try to take away from my accomplishments by casually throwing out insults at me durring our conversations.

Nothing better than one of those insults casually thrown into a conversation… My favorite is when people tell me they just wana get toned and ripped. They dont wana get ā€œbigā€ like me… and then they make the fat guy arm motion with their hands, like to show that I have a big gut. They usually do this after they ask me for advice on something. Like once they tell me that Il suddenly be like OHHHHHHH Hold on there man, I only told you do do skull crushers because I thought you wanted to be obese. Good thing you told me that, I had you set on a workout program for fat asses like my self.

Theres one thing I have learned from dealing with people on the subject of lifting etc, never take away from people until they try to take away from you. And when you do decide to take away from people just completley butcher them politley and get the hell out of there before they start talking about something completley off subject to try and beat you at that.

I agree 100%. I had a roommate who would always try to ā€œbeat meā€ at any and every conversation, but let those people stay oblivious as you say, because secretly you win.

Your lifts (as you and everyone know) are very impressive for your any person, not just for someone as young as you are. As you say in your second to last point (above), skinny dudes never want to get big, aka that used to be more before I became more informed over the past year (moreso the last 5 months). Now thanks to this site (and people like yourself) I realize how I should be lifting and what to eat during which phase, etc. Also it is f’ing hard to get truly too big (if there is such a thing now). In other words, it’s been easy for me to gain 10-15lbs, but I can see how hard it’s going to be to get the strength/body I truly want.

Last thing, I recently read one of those RMP threads (part of it anyway), of some dude who was massive/ripped at 5 7 175, and one kid who was like 120lbs said nice, I gave you a ten, what supplements do you use HAHA. Some people just have the wrong idea. Good luck to you MegaNewb, as you have a great lifting future ahead of you and you’re damn inspiring (aka your max deads and squats are each slighly under my total of 850, haha).

Thanks man, I my self started off with about a 600lb total. The only advice I would give to you would be dont sell your self short on your lifts. Believe in your self, set your goals very high and always use more weight or more reps in your bench squat and deadlift. Enough time thinking and training like this and you will get where ever you want to go. Of course some where along the line your training may start to get a little more complicated to continue to make good gains. But the way of training and thinking will always be productive to strength no matter what program your doing.

The reason I think most people want to be lean and 170 or 180 etc it because they already told them self they dont want to put in the effort to get bigger. People are lazy…

lol i love it when they go i dont wanna get too big, when my friends ask for help they always go but i dont wanna be to big, i always reply with now if you start getting too big you can stop, they generally drop the subject completely.

the other thing is when people do incredibly light weights and you ask them why they dont go heavier and they reply im toning, i always laugh, i cant believe how many believe this, but i guess when they dont change there techniques it sorts out people who are serious and people who really dont care and are lazy

all i can say is cutting sucks ass, dont cut lol, do you do any cardio on a regular basis?

ahh yes the ā€œtonersā€ aka Im to much of a pussy to lift heavy weights and push my self. I think Il just get a pump in my biceps with 20lb dumbells.

Kids at my school argue with me over this toneing bullshit all the time. They also say steroids give you fat thumbs and that when you stop lifting your muscle turns to fat. Arching on bench will ruin your back and lifting heavy will stunt growth and benching to your chest is bad for your shoulders. They dont squat to paralel because of knee pain, yet they only started seeing the knee pain after months of super high squats with heavy weight.

Also, everyone has a bad back, EVERYONE. It doesnt matter how they know this, they just do. They might have pulled a muscle in their back when they were 6 and now 10 years later they are still talking about their bad back. However, their bad back only comes up when you want to do a deadlift or a squat workout. They have no problem with ugly power cleans, super ugly max deadlifts, horible form cheat curls and all that shit that actually will mess your back up.

I love the people who cheat on a exercise to get more weight, then say their way is harder. Not touching your chest makes it so much harder to bench, but when they try to touch their chest they get pinned. Oh I dont go all the way up or down on chins to keep pressure on my back, its harder. Yet full range of motion they cant crank out 3 reps.

High squats are paralel
Rack pulls are deadlifts
spotted benching is a new max
seated shoulder press spotted lockouts is military press
Leg press is squats
hack squat machine is front squats

And for some reason machines = real weight. I have had a kid tell me he benched 365x10, later on I found out it was on his bowflex with cables.

I could go on for days, which is why its easier just to not be nice to people and tell them how it is. Some time Im gonna print up like 25 studys to prove all the bullshit people say isnt true and carry it with me every where.

I dont do cardio, but I lift for 2-3 hours a few times a week so it balances out. I probably burn more calories than all the cardio guys at my gym put together with how long I lift and how heavy I go. I should do cardio tho…

My diet is horible right now, not even worth typeing because its shamefull. Only thing I have down right now is I get tons of sleep and eat enough calories.

Il tell you what, startin tommorow Il keep a log for a few days and see how many calories and protein Im eating. Because right now I have no idea.

I just took my bodyft 3 times on electric calipers and the readings were 27 25 26, damn Im fat…
