I’d suggest rack pulls but I don’t think you’d have enough room on the bar with those plates.

thats what I was going to do, rack pulls from around mid shin.
The bar can hold 855, so I should be good for a long time. Im thinking about setting a goal of a 800lb rack pull from mid shin… If rack pulls kept the same carry over as they have so far, I will have a 900+ deadlift by the time I rack pull 800. but I know that wont happen… but it should at least destroy my old stcking points of just bellow the knee’s and lockout.
this 800lb deadlift goal just keeps creeping closer and closer.
With how fast you put on strength I’d guess your sticking points could change at any time.
Who gets done with exercises?! Done with RDLs? Hahahaha, it’s like you maxed out a skill in an RPG.
I’ll definitely work on loosening my hammies. Front of the hips are always reeeeeally tight though too, so that has to be part of the problem.

true…
thats what worries me, its going to take a good 10 weeks to bring up my strength off the floor enough… probably more time than that.
I can jus just picture rac pulling 855 from mid shin and then missing a 750 deadlift at the floor lol.

well one you max out a exercise and cant make gains, its better in my opinion to just switch to another variation. Basically starts your gains over fresh.
SSB box squat
155x3
245x3
335x3
425x2
515x1
565x1 pr easy
low rack pull from mid shin
315x5
495x6 startin light with thesse and building my way up
t-bar row
3x10
4x10
7x10
curls
?x?
Those are some insane Romanians.
At some point, I heard a rule-of-thumb that whatever you could pull for 4 should be 80% of your meet DL (for a conventional puller presumably).
It turned out to be pretty damn accurate in my case. I pulled 545 for 4 (starting from the floor). The next meet, I smoked 683.

I see
So my romanian deadlift might be the romanian deadlift of a 800lb deadlifter…
That was the goal, mission accomplished I suppose. Now I just have to get the 800lb deadlift. I have a feeling that Im not deadlifting 800lbs right now tho lol. Gonna take a few months of working on my strength off the floor…
hey Mega Newb AWESOME JOB you are a strong motherf***er!!
quick question, what does SSB stand for when you say “SSB Box Squat”?
stay strong!

saftey squat bar squat, its a highbar position about 2" higher than the highest point of your traps. And the bar is bent so the plates are actually out infront of you like they would be in a front squat. the end result is the bar just about rips your head off and wants to puh your face into the floor.
its much harder for me than a normal bar…
its sexy start using it

I agree. I’ve always found trying “plateau busters” a waste of time (and of my joints ;D), too. I switch exercises when I stall and when I switch back after going through one or two more exercises I can blast past my previous best on the exercise I originally ditched (if I want to even do it again, that is).
Keep it up, brother.
Btw, what’s your total like now ? (ever tried doing everything in competition-form just to see where you’re at?)

I actually couldnt even guess my total right now, deadlift is dependant on grip and form which I dont have either right now. Squat is dependant on form and my box squat form is different than a normal squat. And Im not even doing barbell flat bench or any variation of barbell bench so that has to be down as well.
Once I reach my squat and deadlift goals I could just bring up my bench and probably total around 2000, but that will take a while
This shit is getting old!
Doing upper body pushing exercises for bodybuilding is boring as fuck. I dont even have the urge to do the shit anymore. I need to find a new barbell exercise to work on my strengthh in.
perhaps a 405 pushpress…
HitEmHard wrote:
thats a 425lb…why not aim to beat that? sure it will take a while but it would be a hell of a goal!
thats the thing, I dont know what to do, in the past shoulder work has made my shoulders ache to the point that shoulderpressing 135 hurt. Incline used to hurt my shoulders also, and I pulled a pec doing it.
oh well, I got time to figure out what I want to do I guess.
