Mega Newbs Training Log

I’m still in awe of your strength. At 17 I weight 1/2 of you and I lifted 1/10 of what you lift. If you aren’t entering power lifting/strongman competitions you should because you would take home gold every time for your age bracket. You are a beast.

strong romanians man

What’s this, the pussification of newb? 21’s (did you break all the 45 pound plates or was that really done with only 95)? Pushdowns? WHAT?

And judging by the numbers, you went strict on laterals?

Heresy!

Don’t tell me you’re trying to become a bodybuilder (fuck I gotta find myself a new hobby with less competition…) ;D

Kidding brother(s), keep it up

Thanks

I was planning on doing the a usapl meet that got posted in the log a few weeks ago. But I read the rules and they are just stupid. I would like to lift in the APF because they allow a monolift, having your feet not flat on the floor, allow you to lift your head in the bench, and dont make you squat as deep. They also allow knee wraps.

I dont really want to compete right now tho because I decided a few months ago that I wanted to deadlift 800, and box parallel box squat 855 with knee wraps before I turned 18. And I couldnt train for a competition while training for those lifts…

ehh, I hate lifting like that to be honest :frowning:

I like moving weight all the time, but I no longer have a consistent workout partner so I cant go as heavy on stuff. I decided that in order to give all my attention to deadlifts and squat training, that Id do some bodybuilding bullshit for upper body.

In the past I realized I always made my best progress when only training 1 or 2 lifts at a time. Training all 3 at a time ended in sup par gains in everything, if any at all.

Hey man thanks for all the input on box squat stuff. Last workout I ditched the box and really warmed up my hips beforehand. Depth is still stuck a tiny bit below parallel or else I end up rounding my back, but I’m getting there.

600x10 and 805x1 ssq high box squats tonight!
im gonna lower the box to parralel now that
i got my fix of stupidity for the next few weeks towards the end of the year.

i also tryed some romanians(605 x 3) i was happy to have that after the squats. they were crappier than my brothers tho.

and split squats in a smith, ive never don these befor, but i saw a budy of mine doing them last week and it looked cool. 365x10
(im gonna get up to like 500lbs on these  lol )
some leg curls and a light highrep set of legpress finnished this workout. im happy

next workout will be back day!!! and im going heavy this time

oh, and dont listen to my brother about not having a consistent traing partner, i get home from class and crash for a few hours befor i train, its not like he’s all alone with noone hard enough ta train with and spot him lol. kids these days

I cant just wait until you feel like you want to lift, then hope that you dont have plans so you can workout for longer than a hour, then hope your not in one of your moods so that you dont mess up the workout by being sour.

To be honest, Im better off training alone, unless the person Im training with is as serious or more serious than me about getting as strong as possible. Other wise it just ends up being someone who uses all the stuff in my gym bag, while asking me for spots, spreading equipment all over the gym, and being negative the whole time. Not the ideal training partner.

To take my self to the next level I need to be able to train as hard as possible every time I train. When the lifts I do revolves a spot, and I cant get one… The solution to this is to not do lifts that involve a spot instead of the lifts that do.

If you want to make set training times, Il train with you. But my lifting is to important to me to just leave it to chance, when you are as inconsistent as you are with when your decide to train.

In a few months Im going t be dialing in my training to go for my 800 deadlift, I cant just wait all day to see if you want to come to the gym with me when theres a good chance you wont.

BTW, nice job on the 600x10 and 800lb SSB high box squats. I wish I would have went, and would have, if you would have told me you were going for 800.

any time.

I believe that would be tight hamstrings making your lower back round.

not everyone can just not worry about school to be a fulltime weightlifting machine, and im by far the most consistent training person either of us have seen, i got you started traing you remember, and transformed my body from being obese, to something worthy of cutting for a bodybuilding show(a goal of mine). sometimes you have to get your nose out of your training logs and focus on life. i figured your insecurities would become a problem posting in this log, oh well, peace son! pr!!1!11!one!!1

lol

dont get so upset man… it wasnt meant to be a bash against you. If you see it that way then dont get mad at me, change what you dont like about your self. Shit, losing the weight you did is harder than becoming consistent in the gym.

You started lifting a week before I did, and I had trained off and on for years before you did, just doing pushups and light dumbbell curls and sit ups etc. But if you want to take credit for me lifting, be my guest.

If you dont want to post your workouts, thats fine. If your going to post in the log misleading people about your lifts Im going to correct the lifts. Again, dont get mad at me, if you arent proud of the way you train then change it.

amazing lifts bro, if you dont mind me asking, what does your vertical jump look like

lol, bye bye baby corn

thanks

I dont know what my vertical jump is, but I could touch rim at my schools basket ball court when I was 330+ walking around weight.

I dont do much jumping tho, because I get shin splits and have patella tendon soreness all the time. Landing on the ground at 330lbs is hard on those things.

romanian deadlifts, not enough rest on these. I have done these like every 3-4 days for 2-3 week now it seems.

135x3
225x3
315x3
405x3
495x2
605x1 or 2
700x2, these looked like deadlifts stopping a couple inches from the floor… Im done with this exercise as I believe I have more or less peaked out. I might be good for 750 with the same form s these tho.

goodmornings (deadlift stance)
135x10
225x10
315x10

just to beat up to keep going :frowning:

got a video of the 700x2 uploading to youtube right now.

700x2 romanian video, no longer romanian form really… Im gonna switch to a new deadift assistance exercise.
